Swollen scrotum

Postby Transit74 » Fri Apr 12, 2024 5:35 pm

I just had a revision done after 8 years, surgery was on Tuesday and today (Friday) I took out the catheter and all the padding that was placed in the athletic supporter. My problem is that my sack is swollen the size of an orange even though I had iced the area since getting home and am on a heating pad as directed all day today. The reason I'm asking is because when I had my first implant I didn't have this type of swelling. Anyone experience this and should I be concerned? I called the doctors office today and was told the swelling is normal but it seems to be getting worse not better.

Yes, swollen (large orange) for 2-3 weeks, post implant procedure. I too, panicked and sent the surgeon a pic. You guessed it...he said that is normal. Also, I did NOT have a drain. He said I didn't need it. After about 6 weeks+ all good. Oh, did I mention that I was black and blue from the waist down?

Thanks very much for the reply as I was nervous about it. Don't have any desire to go back to the operating room any time soon. I have a great urologist (Dr Eid) and I have no complaints with him or his staff. As I mentioned in my initial post this is a revision and didn't have this problem with the first surgery. My first implant was a AMS 700 and the revision is a Coloplast Titan but I don't think that makes any difference..

You're going to love the Titan, especially more girth. Once you're released to cycle (per your doctor), every day, twice a day.
But you knew that. Lol

I feel like I was the poster child for swelling. And my doc said he had seen worse. It subsided a lot by six weeks, but then came back about 50% after four flights in a few days. PA said it could have been all the changes in pressure. It does eventually go away.

If you have an advantage, you know the routine of inflating and deflating. I was mystified and concerned as it was only something I read about.

Follow the doctor’s orders, but I was told too much heat can be inflammatory. I still used moderate heat for comfort.
