Pump low in scrotum

Postby FT1234 » Tue May 21, 2024 7:48 pm

I’m 5 weeks post surgery and have a concern.

My pump seems to be too low in my scrotum.

I feel like I’m sitting on it when sitting straight up and rolling forward from a reclined position is also challenging.

Any personal experiences that you can share?

Can it be adjusted in office under local or is that another trip to the OR?

5 weeks is still early in this. Most cases a reoperation will not happen until after 6 months. This is because scar tissue will not hold sutures again for that long. In cases of infection this is why with all but the best doctors and a small number of men another IPP will not be placed. Your tissue needs to heal and you need to recover fully. Even for just a pump adjustment it is at least 3 months. You are going to have a lot of changes during these first months. Think of a knee surgery. It takes time for everything to come back. Having read a lot on this site I gave myself 1 year before I would judge my outcome. You can talk to your doctor about this but in just about all cases this will resolve on its own and you will adjust to this. My pump is low and in the back. I did a lot of off road (4X4) travel and the bumpy terrain would cause some soreness of my scrotum where the pump would hit it. Took a while but the tissue healed, and my scrotum thickened in that location. Now I no longer have any problem at all with it. I still do feel my reservoir. But it is not bad just a reminder that it is there.

Give this more time. It should and probably will resolve on its own as your body will adjust to it. I really like mine as it makes it easier to move the pump to the front and operate. You will find the most common pump adjustment is for it being too high.
