I'm thinking about the implant but I had an infection. Opinions?

Postby Big_one67 » Tue Jun 11, 2024 7:50 am

Hi everyone, I’m from Italy and I've been following the forum for a while but this is my first post. I decided to get a penis implant because now my ED continues to get worse and even the pde5s have less and less effect. My problem is that in April 2023 I put a prosthesis on my knee and unfortunately in November I had an infection in the prosthesis. I had surgery again to clean my knee and followed 6 months of antibiotic therapy which I finished a few days ago. I would like to have the penis implanted between September and October but obviously given what happened to me I'm a little worried. The doctor I chose for the implant told me that from his point of view there are no problems, but I would like to know your point of view or if anyone has had this type of experience.

Go for it, just stay thoroughly clean till you heal up, anti bacterial soap, continuously washing hands, etc... talk to the surgeon about antibiotics and when he will use them and how long you will be taking them. Some doctors start you out before surgery.

If I am in your place, I would also worry about it. Infection isn't a joke. It is serious, specially that it happened more than 5 months after your surgery, mostly ruling out an infection during the surgery itself.
You need to select an expert implant surgeon, who can go through your records and try to find the possible infection cause. If it was directly related to the knee prosthesis, then you will be good to go with your penile implant putting into consideration the recommendation provided by wilsonmill above.

which doctor in italy? and how much does it cost ?

btw if you had an infection and is now solved you should not worry for the implant.

Hello, on the day of your operation they are going to shave, clean, sanitize and disinfect that entire area to a sparkly finish.
You will be out cold during this whole process.

They are very aware of the infection risks, and also know the legal liabilities on their end if something went wrong.
I really don't think you have much to worry about.
In the 2 years I've monitored FrankTalk I don't think I've ever heard of a brother posting....

"I'M IMPLANTED AND NOW I HAVE A RAGING INFECTION ROLLING THROUGH ME.."

I've never seen any post like this.
Is there a minuscule chance of infection?
Yes.
There is also a minuscule chance you will step out of the shower, slip and crack your head wide open.
I have no regrets whatsoever and would do this all over again in a split second.

Good Luck, Best wishes,
