Medical Pump, absurd pressure!?

I've been looking at medical pumps specifically designed for ED with a ring. I've always been told to not exceed 5 in.hg while pumping with a gauge. I'm interested in buying the Erecaid esteem manual pump but there's no gauge... So I figured i would ask the manufacturer what is the maximum pressure in in.Hg when using this pump. They got back to me and informed me that max pressure is 17 in.Hg I don't know but this seems a little high. Am I missing something here? I would think 17 in.Hg is beyond the danger zone from where I'm standing. Any thoughts?

I just checked the gauge I got with my LA Pump and maximal pressure stands at 30 in. hG:


Strongly advising on buying pump with a gauge tho, I rarely exceed these 5 in. hG, usually pumping somewhere in between 4 and 6. I can see how guys can hurt themselves going for more thats needed. I recommend LeLuv / La Pump.

yes i understand the LA pump pressure. It's best to never exceed 5 in.Hg but i'm not talking about those pumps. I'm talking about medical grade pumps like this one (Erecaid Esteem) shown below. This is an FDA medically approved vacuum system recommended by urologist for ED.
It uses up to 17in.hg in pressure without a gauge. If there's no gauge and the pressure goes that high it means it's intended to reach that amount of pressure(17in.Hg) or they would've just capped it off at lower pressure. Any opinion on this? If this is extremely high pressure, could you really hurt yourself with a medically approved pump like this one?

This study concludes 200 mmhg or 300 mmhg would be maximum effective pressures.
200 mmhg = 8 inhg
300 mmhg = (about) 12 inhg
432 mmhg = 17 inhg

5 inhg = 127 mmhg

A quick conclusion is 5 inhg is too low, 17 inhg is too high.

"−200 mmHg is the optimal negative pressure in VED therapy, even under special circumstances. A pressure of −300 mmHg is also worth consideration."

A caveat is that this study was done with rats and there are many differences between a rat penis and a human one.

My routine is about 5 - 10 pumps, stop for a minute or so, release vacuum and repeat. Usually takes 3 or more repeats before rings are applied. There is nothing to be gained and there is potential harm by going "balls to the wall" when using a pump.

I also use an Erecaid Esteem Manual system. I don't need a gauge as I just vacuum until I feel any discomfort and back off a little. I also mark the tube to where I'm comfortable and some days I can reach it and sometimes not. Generally, I feel more discomfort from the tube pressing against my pelvic area and back off a little from that. I'm very pleased with the results of that system and rings.

The same as my experience with the Encore Deluxe. The original marking has been erased but I use it so often that I know almost exactly the spot.

Anyone thinking that 17hg, or using a pump without a gauge is alright then go right ahead, if your ED isn't permanent yet it will be. You've been told over and over you shouldn't pump without a gauge, you can't go by feeling, it doesn't work that way! If I pumped till I felt discomfort I'd be at 20hg, so I use a gauge because I don't want a useless hunk of meat between my legs that would guarantee me a future implant.

It cracks me up when "they" say get a medical grade pump, it's a pump I don't care what you call it! I know they're doctors, "they" never give you the wrong information, right, no need to get any second opinions, right, they all graduated at the top of their class, right?

So in conclusion, throw away your gauge if you have one, I can't understand why they make pumps with them anyway, and max out that pressure, that petachia, donuts, water blisters, and damage to your corpus caverniosum, not to worry, it's all good.

I'm sure you can damage yourself with a medical grade pump. Don't do that! Use common sense. You can tell when you've pumped too much. So then back off. Or you can be an idiot and continue. I'm sure I could add a gauge to mine if I felt it was needed.
