As an aside: I do carry my implant information card with my passport while traveling. But I’ve never needed to use it. At least, not yet!

Implant detected at airport…
While going through airport security a couple days ago, traveling from Edinburgh to Dublin, the scanner detected my AMS-700 implant. It’s never happened to me before, despite frequent international travel. Much to my amusement, the security guy was confused that he couldn’t find anything in my pockets. One thorough pat-down later and he said he had no idea what the scanner was detecting. I could have told him about the implant, but I was kinda enjoying his befuddled confusion. Ultimately, they just let me go on my way. If he had asked about medical devices, I would have been fully honest about the implant. But he never asked, so I didn’t tell. LOL!

Aggressive prostate cancer (genetically predisposed) at 52. Required immediate intervention. Robot Assisted Radical Prostatectomy (RARP) in December 2021. Erectile function never returned. Penile implant (AMS-700) in March 2024. Bionic Boys Club FTW!

I've had that happen to me as well shorty after i had been implanted. Was it one of those scanners that show the exact part of your body to search for, and it showed my penis area. Was yours the same?
I had it show up right in my penis area, the guy patted me and literally felt the tip of my cilinders which are quite hard. He seemed quite confused. I told him I had my gym shorts under my jeans (which was true as I had been at the gym earlier that day and had no time to get changed). He later told me to pull my shorts up a bit more. I rearranged my penis upwards, he patted again and let me go.

I haven't had any issues, but I have Pre-check so I don't have to go through the backscatter x-ray here in the US.
No problems in other countries that don't honor Pre-check, though.
Not fond of some dude groping my crotch, though.

i travel quite a bit. I generally just raise my hand when TSA asks if you have an implant. They usually just put me through a separate que.

Re: Implant detected at airport…
So if someone wanted to implant something in their body that could be blown up it sounds like that could get through pretty much no problem
