"average" or "typical" dose of Bimix

Postby EasyEd2 » Wed Jul 30, 2025 9:49 pm

I am one of those guys who can't tolerate Trimix because of the alprostadil. (It creates painfully hard erections that last forever.) I have backed off to Bimix and am having trouble finding a good dose. I am currently at 0.28ml of Bimix but still, the erection is kind of a semi. Is there anyone here using Bimix who can tell me what dose you've used that produces a good result?

It can also depend on the strength of Bimix. I have what is described as the Silver mix, and I use 40 units each time. Does the job.

I injected for 10 years and I work in a related field so this is in my wheelhouse.

There is no set recipe for BiMix. The name is widely accepted to mean a mix of Papaverine and Phentolamine. Your urologist’s prescription likely specifies how many milligrams per milliliter (mg/ml) for each of them.

A compounding pharmacy can make any mix. (Eventually there is an upper limit until the medication will no longer remain in solution.)

For most compounding pharmacies the price per vial is the same regardless of how concentrated the mix is. So from an economical standpoint it is best to dial in your BiMix strength so a dose of 10-15 units (small but large enough to draw up in a syringe accurately) does the trick. That way you get LOTS of erections for the price of a vial and allows you to easily increase your dose if your ED progresses/worsens.

My recollection is that a 10ml (or 10cc, same thing) vial was about $125 or $140. That is 1000 units. (100units in a milliliter). So if my dose was 15 units that works out to a little of $2 an erection.

If BiMix isn’t working great (you are taking a large dose of a very concentrated mix) atropine could be added. Atropine is the typical ingredient that differentiates QuadMix from TriMix. It won’t be a game changer but does make it all work a bit better.

Adding a cockring is helpful to slow venous leak too (the most common cause of ED).

So…. What is the current prescription of your BiMix? What does it say on the vial exactly? That will help folks give you suggestions.
