Running

Postby Colby-jack__ » Fri Aug 22, 2025 10:16 pm

Ok, here's something I have not seen addressed here...

Im a runner and im going in for my IPP on Tuesday.
Are there any other runners here with IPPs?

How soon could you get back to it?
What held you back?
Tips to.make it work?

I run about 20-25 miles per week.
Im prepared to take a week or 2 off but im hoping this wont be 6 weeks.

I haven't taken 6 weeks off running since I started 23 years ago.

~8" before IPP but not "hard" enough for pvi.
Tried everything as things progressed:
Pills, pumps, prp, trt, gainswave, peptides, trimix, quadmix and a vibrating ring.

No way you're going to be running after one or two weeks. Plan at least four weeks of no running and consult your doctor. I think most surgeons recommend taking a month off any intensive activities. I'm a runner myself and I've had my surgery on Monday. Despite really fast healing and minor discomfort I would probably need to be in a life or death situation to get myself to run as of now.

Congrats on your recent upgrades!

I hear you on the time it takes to heal.
Ill sit on that sofa and watch Netflix for as long as it takes.

Id rather have a working johnson and a slightly slower 5k time.

Never having to worry about if our dicks will work when needed will make it worth all that we're going through.

Best of luck healing!

Runner here. You wont be running or doing any core engaging exercise at least a month.

I have been walking / rucking w weight as an alternative.

I have not had the implant surgery but for reference, I did have a Left inguinal hernia operation. Which is in the same area, cut the lower abdomen, groin area etc.

Walking and running (light jog) was ok after 3 weeks.
It took 8-10 weeks until I could lift weights and play football 100%.

Different surgeries but do have some relationship.

Good luck mate!!!!

Getting the group consensus of experience is great. BUT your doc’s instructions are the final say. Many of us get different instructions from our surgeons. This one says activate after 3 days, this one says at 3 weeks. This one says no heavy activity for 2 weeks. That one says 2 months.

Different docs have different techniques and following someone else’s doc’s instructions might put you at risk for a complication.

With that said, my doc said to just ease myself back into activity. Start gently and slowly increase as it felt comfortable. I stayed off my feet as much as possible for the first week then eased back in. Walking for exercise for the next week. Easy jogging the next week. Back to running on a treadmill the next.

But again, do what your doc says.

Running within 4 weeks.....FORGET IT. I gave it 4 - 6 months. Even then.....I started out walking. Some may start earlier, but it's up to how you feel and your doctor. I started out on my treadmill.....walking...jogging. Never a full run. It took me 6 months to jog on the beach sand. I am not a marathon runner.....just a 1 -2 mile jogger, 2 - 3 times a week, just enough to keep the body in shape. Good luck, just keep notes on how you feel, and consult your doctor if things don't feel right.

Thanks to all of you on the feedback.
What i take from this:

Listen to your surgeon
Listen to your body.

Thanks again!

Which implant did you choose? I understand that Titan? I am also a runner, I run about 45 times a week, in addition to that I also ride a road bike, and in the winter I cross-country ski. Which implant would be better, considering such activities and serious physical exertion? Titan or CX? I read that you have a decent size. May I know which one? I am 6.5 in length and 6.2-6.3 in girth. And I would not want to lose it if I choose CX, which I think is a little better suited for cyclic sports. But this is just my guess. With Titan there are concerns about the quacking pump, one-touch also makes a noise, dog ears and weak tubes that can quickly break. But with Titan, there is probably a better chance of preserving the girth
38 years old. In the past, an active and very athletic guy, suffered after vein ligation. After that, I tried embolization, which did not help. Now I am choosing between CX and Titan

Im not as extreme as you but I run 25 miles a week year round and I lift (and sauna) 4 times a week.

I got the titan but I just had it installed TODAY and all I can say is I wont be running today or tomorrow!

Ill keep you posted.

I was between 8 and 8.5" going in and my dr said he expected id keep that size. Hopefully the VED time pays off.

Ill keep you all posted on that too.
