Been dealing with ED my whole life. Now, in my early thirties, I’ve decided to figure out WHY and do something about it.
I’ve been researching ED and implants for well over a year now. During that time, this forum has been an amazing resource for me. I’ve been purposefully taking things slow, reading about my options and understanding risks and outcomes from various sources and the well written journals on this forum.
Now it’s time to take a more significant step in my journey and get the diagnostics done. I’m very nervous (I’ve always gotten that way with doctors) but I know I’m doing this for myself and that it’s a great thing.
I’ve already decided that if I end up going forward with an implant, I’ll make sure to start a journal to give back some knowledge to this community!
Anyways, I’ll let you all know how things go with my trip. I’ll probably write up the results of the trip once I’m back home Saturday! Wish me luck, thanks everybody.

You'll be in great hands, he has a great bedside manner and talks to you like a high school buddy or long time friend. Couldn't ask for a better Dr in my opinion.

Thanks John for the words. I had a virtual consultation initially with him a few weeks ago to kick things off. He seems super down to earth and passionate about what he does, which is awesome. Really looking forward to my appointment tomorrow. Will report back soon.

Re: Flying to Atlanta tomorrow for consultation and ultrasound with Dr Hakky
Update:
Well, it’s been confirmed. I have a venous leak and have likely had it my whole life! I always had a gut feeling that something physiologic was the cause of my ED and it wasn’t in my head. It’s honestly such a relief and VERY validating to get it confirmed via diagnostics.
What next?
I’m giving the injections a shot (pun not intended) for the next month, and will then meet virtually with Hakky again to talk about if I want to proceed with a surgical option. I want to give Trimix a fair chance + a cock ring, but I anticipate that I’m not going to love it based on the fact that in-office my penis didn’t respond amazingly to the Trimix. Now - to be fair - it was a clinical setting and I was NOT aroused. But knowing myself, I anticipate I’ll likely want to proceed with the implant.
I will see how I’m feeling start of October!
About Hakky / his office staff:
They’re world class. Truly. I was EXTREMELY comfortable and everyone was super friendly. The person who handled my ultrasound was super professional and encouraging, she talked me through the things she was observing in real time and it was very helpful.
I also had to do bloodwork. The last time I had blood drawn, I nearly passed out - this was completely involuntary (I don’t care about needles or anything, but started feeling really sick in the middle of it). This was no different, I unfortunately had the same reaction in-office! But the team was super helpful and understanding, got me water and ice packs, etc etc. After 5 minutes or so I regained color in my face and was totally fine. Next time I do blood I might have to do it laying down (it’s really odd, I never had this issue in the past. Is what it is!).
Hakky himself of course was fantastic to speak to. He genuinely gives a sh*t and walked me through all the options. We didn’t have a ton of time to get into the weeds yet on IPP vs MPP, but from our brief discussion he truly sees the whole debate holistically and outlined the pros and cons of each. We will get more into the details on my next consult in early October!
In conclusion:
I’m really glad I chose to go in-person and perform the diagnostics with Hakky and team. It was really an important experience for me. I’m optimistic about the future now that I know what’s really going on.
Want to thank everyone here on FT for the great community and openness around these issues. It helped me really start taking these steps in the first place!
I’ll keep everyone updated as I proceed - especially if I decide surgery is the next thing for me.

Johnny....... I have been a patient of Dr Hakky for the past few years. He is very good in office and operating room. I have had several surgeries performed by him and the team at Northside Gwinnett. The team is absolutely awesome!! His assistant as well as the whole team are just on top of everything. They will make you feel very comfortable and they do truly care about you! I will also say that my surgeries were revisions based on ipp failure and my body failed on two of the surgeries from previous damage by previous doctor. I have only taken two pain pills with each surgery. One for the longer ride home and that night of rest. The meds were taken just as a precaution.
I wish you the best on the trimix shots but just remember that each shot causes scar tissue on the shaft. The shots worked for me for about two years but I really wish I had opted for the implant earlier.

Revision 2/13/24 Dr Tariq Hakky, Atlanta (Great Doctor) Titan 24XL no Rte’s. I’m 62 married. I have had numerous revisions due to product and body failures. Always had a Titan ipp.

The trimix I received in Hakkys office only gave me a 35% erection. Every shot I gave myself after that was a full erection.

Ronn, thanks for the detailed reply. I’m really glad to hear from another of his patients. I’m still in the process of deciding between IPP and MPP but with Hakky and his staff, I know I’m setting myself up for a good outcome by picking a team I can trust - regardless of the type of implant I proceed with.

That’s great to know Matt. Hakky also told me this was likely, especially since I was in-office for a medical procedure. Im hoping my experience will be like yours and that the Trimix will be stronger when I’m aroused with my partner.

I’m about three years ahead of you. I’ve been on quadmix for three years. Probably going to schedule an implant at my next appointment with Hakky. So let me know if you have any questions.
