Hi Ykapoor741, the silicone material is typically solid and durable. The metal core, however, may develop fatigue or fracture after repeated bending over the long term.
40, 2024 - Coloplast Genesis malleable 22cm-13mm with 1cm RTE. Subcoronal Incision. Distal Lymphedema. Significant loss in sensitivity. Happy otherwise. Considering an IPP.

Please see attached comment by Dr. Hakky - a reputed high volume implanter.

U are saying that for 15 years it would work perfectly then post that it will start to loose its rigidity and bendyness right??

From what Dr. Hakky says, MPP rods "usually" start to wear out around year 15. I’d take his word seriously, he’s been seeing implant patients for about 15 years since residency. Keep in mind that there will always be outliers with early/late/no failures. "Usually" refers to average outcomes. Every patient is different.

having a malleable myself ,there really that much stressful bending . It isn't what i expected . mine falls by gravity, and i pull it up or insertion for the waiting girlie fun zone . im am not worried about the metal wire fatiguing and breaking .
i have seen youtube vids of the shaft needing to be held and then bent down .
i was expecting that , but that's not my case
i think that not something to be concerned about .
There is a stat that does say what the number of bend cycles the wire can withstand .and depending on what material it is ,etc . i don't recall what that amount is .
American , retired in the philippines .
tactra malleable 13 mm ,in new delhi India . on april 2024
