Instead of VED for pre operative stretching, can one also just stretch by hand?

If all goes well my doc estimates I might have an implant date around February/March, so 3-4 months from now.

Someone told me to use VED daily already in anticipation of it. Sometimes it's not convenient to pull this thing out and apply it and walk around like that for a while.

If I just use my hand and stretch my member out while sitting on couch or lying in bed watching sports.

Is it all about stretching your dong lengthwise? Also does that stretching it longer lose some 'natural' rigidity?

I haven't heard of anyone doing that. Assuming you are aiming to restore both length and girth I don't think it would be helpful.
The VED is device that will expand both dimensions in a controlled way when used properly.
Try and set aside some time each day to do the pumping, or even every second day if you are time poor, and preferably not while walking around.
Even just 10 minutes a day can help get everything stretched, so that it's possible to get the maximum size implant suitable for your anatomy.
But if you are just sitting on the couch or lying in bed watching sports why would you not just pump it up then and leave it? Always set a timer though so you don't overdo it. Personally It's not something I would want to skimp on or try and shortcut. Others may have different views.

There are different schools of thought on the best approach. I can only tell you what I did after a lot of research on Franktalk and elsewhere.
In my case I was pumping and holding for around 20 minutes at least twice a day in the 5 weeks or so leading up to my surgery.
I was often doing that 3 times a day when I could fit it in. But that's an aggressive program and I don't know how many others would do that.
I was determined to get my original size back and did everything I could to make it happen.
It's something you should ask for guidance on from your surgeon or their support team if you are unsure.

No idea really but I think it might work to some degree? Maybe as an approach not every day but every once in a while when a VED isn't convenient, especially since I have read that VED use pre-op just needs to be a few days a week while post-op daily is recommended (don't quote me on that, though).

I'm just commenting because there is research that taking Viagra can work, especially at higher doses than normal. No one told me about VEDs before my implant so I'm just happy to say abusing Viagra severely, like 15+ 100mgs on occasion with zero standards on online dating was more than enough to get the job done, LOL.

Before my RP, I regularly stretched using different methods including manual stretching.
To make a difference, there needs to be a very strong pull, but it's possible to cause damage by exceeding the tensile strength of the tunica and corpora.

After some months, I reached a stretched length of 17 cm, but my dick would be skinny when pulled.

I think that at any one time, you can have either a long dick or a fat one, but not both. The reason that I say this is that when I had an erection, I couldn't stretch it past its 15 cm erect length, but when flaccid, I could stretch it to 17 cm.

Using a VED doesn't produce much force lengthwise compared to manual or weight stretching, but the negative VED pressure does help to recover and maintain girth and is the only way to do that other than natural erections.

I am now using a -35 kPa VED pressure while fully pumped for 10 minutes a day. More than about 14 minutes causes oedema. That and aggressive cycling has produced an increase in girth of 4 mm in 4 or 5 months (3.5%).

Not a huge amount, but better than nothing.

Just use the pump at moderate pressure. Why risk damaging anything? VEDs are safe and highly effective at keeping both length and girth intact.

I used it 3 times a day 30 minutes to an hour at a time for 6 weeks before surgery per my dr. who is dr. carrion one of the highest volume implanters in the us. I'd pump it up hold it for 5 minutes ..rest for 10 pump it up 5 ..I do think it helped since I had a stroke 2 yrs before and never had another erection since.
