Penile Implant Research Updates - June 2026

Postby lasthope2.0 » Sun Jul 26, 2026 1:06 pm

Hey everyone,
I was curious about what's going on in the implant research community, so I pulled a report on June publications. Sharing it here for anyone interested.

Thanks Lasthope!
I like the summery of articles related to Penile Implants.
I especially liked this article:
Restoring sexual health and relationship quality through penile prosthesis implantation
Pozo C, et al.
https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10354-026-01158-3

SUMMARY
This structured case report describes a young patient with erectile dysfunction after radical prostatectomy, refractory to first- and second-line medical therapy, who underwent implantation and achieved high satisfaction, restored sexual function, and improved psychosocial well-being. The authors argue that prostheses remain underused, with referral often delayed, and recommend earlier referral and structured patient education, particularly for younger post-oncologic patients.

This shows how important penile implants are in the restoration of sexual and mental health, especially in younger patients. It's not recommended to wait too long, but just take the implant into account very early, when other therapies are not working.
68, Germany, lost 40 years to 4 asexual marriages and ED.
Implanted: July 2023, AMS LGX 18cm + 5 cm RTE
