Dave - First of all, read the disclaimer at login. This is not a medical site and unless there is a medical professional who answers you, you shouldn't rely on this for medical advice. You need to ask your doctor that question. Secondly, lets be ratioinal about this. How do you think an STD enters the body? Would anything done during the surgery or the implant itself reduce the chances of an STD entering in that way? I personally know I have still got colds and flu since my implant, so I'm not going to rely on it to prevent an STD. You can form your own conclusions, then check with your doctor.
