4th time is the charm… I hope!

Postby Rider1400 » Thu Sep 03, 2026 1:42 pm

For those not following me, implanted 4-1/2 years ago. Issues w reservoir and tips eroding. February went in for revision. Got an infection where the old reservoir was located over 4-5 weeks it migrated to the implant. May I had salvage, removed implant that was installed in February and washed out replace with exactly same implant. One week of IV antibiotics prior to implant in hospital and two weeks of PICC line antibiotics after implant from home. 3 days after PICC line was removed the incision began to weep and puss up. May I had an explantation. Nothing but a limp noodle for 3 months. Lots of VED use to keep scar tissue down in shaft. September 2nd Wednesday got my new implant. 2cm less than previous due to scar tissue in proximal part. Dr assured me the distal would measure same as before. Headed home today. 6-1/2 hour ride with wife driving. Very sore in crux area obviously from the tunneling into the scar tissue. Looks like about 50-60% inflated no swelling that I can tell in the mummy wrap.no pressure either just lots of discomfort when I move or try to get In Or out of SUV. Will ice and lay a lot when I get home and remove packing and shower on Saturday. Anxious for the reveal! Hoping and praying this will be my final surgery this year. Been off work 5 months and 10 days prior to this surgery and now another 8 weeks, will go back to work November 5th. Thank goodness gir a great short term disability policy I purchased a couple years ago! Will update Saturday after shower and wrap removal.
60yo.ED started mid 40s pills failed after 10 years. Injections works w diminishing results.
Implanted 5-22 Titan 20cm with 1cm RTE.
Revision 3-26 Titan 24cm with 1cm trimmed off.
Infection, salvage 5-26 Titan 24cm -1cm trimmed.

Thinking great thoughts and hoping for a speedy recovery, Rider!
Born 1974. Implanted 5/21/2024. AMS 700 CX 21cm, 3cm RTE. Penoscrotal. Venous leak my whole life. Pills helped, but hated the side effects; worked less as I aged. Skipped injections. Grateful to bionic brotherhood that helped me make this decision.
