I'm uninsured... looking for good, affrodable surgeons

I'm currently unemployed and uninsured although I do have savings. I'm in need of a penile implant. Who are good surgeons with affordable rates for someone in my present financial circumstance?

I think youre being an idiot or a hater. But in case youre not I can't wait since it's tough getting a job or even get more money to get this surgery and in case there are some issues following the surgery

When I asked dr. Kansas (in Austin TX) what would be out of pocket if my insurance does not cover the procedure he said it would be around 25K. However, since my case was a replacement of LGX which by the time of initial installation was a subject of life time warranty, I could expect to get reimbursed back around 10k, although it would take about a year or so.

For cash pay, I think Coloplast offers a 10 year malfunction warranty if you are in the US.

I’d personally take the warranty into consideration if I’m paying cash and have backup savings for one more surgery, if one of those 1% complications were to occur and needs a rework in 3 months. This is just to be well prepared. I second Duke_Cicero.

The 10 year warranty is regardless of cash or insurance payment. Though who gets the reimbursement might be very different between them.

Search this implant forum for the word “cash”. It turns up about 600 posts but you can scan through all of that in an hour or two. It turns up TONS of discussion that is pertinent to your question. Lots of guys mentioning how much different surgeons charge and so forth. Lots of useful information in there.

If cost is a consideration, a malleable is considerably less expensive and failure is pretty much non-existent compared to inflatable implants.

Regarding warranty on devices. Find out what it will cover. I expect it only covers the cost of the replacement device. Not the surgeon’s fee, OR materials/supplies/fees, anesthesia, hospitalization…

Since it sounds like you have the cash, go to Turkey, I have read that there are some very good surgeons there, and since you don't have to get back to a job you can hang out there for awhile and make sure you heal properly.
