PEYRONIES STUDY NEEDS PARTICIPANTS!

Postby Frank Talk Admin » Mon Nov 22, 2010 12:53 pm

Dr. Michael Werner, a renowned ED and male fertility specialist is located in the metropolitan New York City area. He has announced a new study on Peyronies and needs subjects. It does involve visits to his office (compensated) so this is practical only for men in the NYC area.
Thanks
Paul

I know this is serious thread, but I qualify... especially "willing to attempt vaginal intercourse." Too bad I'm no where near NYC! I suspect I have a touch of peyronies, though, so I'll be interested in what this study concludes.

Is there any definitive science on when a gently curve becomes classified as Peyronie's?

Most gental curves are not classified as peyronies expecially if you have had it all along.

The underlying cause of Peyronie's Disease is not well understood, but is thought to be caused by trauma or injury to the penis usually through sexual activity although many patients often are unaware of any traumatic event or injury

There is also an association that a class of anti-hypertensive drugs known as calcium channel blockers may be a possible cause of or exacerbate the disease, although it has not been proven. However, all beta blocker drugs list Peyronie's disease as a possible side effect.

The active phase is usually 18 months. About 1/3 will straighten on there own. When that heppens you can loose up to 20% of your penile size. That is one reason I recommend the VED exercise to help prevent loss of size. All kinds of supplements have been tired but to date none have proven effective.

I believe the study Paul is talking about is Collagenase by Auxillum it is in Phase III clinical trials.

For more information on peyronies go to www.peyroniessociety.org.

Excellent question.

And are there different degrees of PD?

My penis bends a bit to the left. It's not painful and it doesn't stop me from having sex but I don't like it. It wasn't always like that and I believe that it may have been a consequence of a more 'energetic' masturbation session but I can't say for sure.
