I seemingly have arrived at the "last frontier." Viagra and injections do not work apparently as I am a Type 2 diabetic and have severe venous leak. (my blood sugar is very good but the damage has been done) A vacuum pump does work but I have never used it for intercourse and doubt I could.
I visited my doctor last week and they explained everything I already knew; much gleaned from this great site. They explained the implant in detail and said they would start the process so I could see what the cost would be to me. (I have United Healthcare) So, I have been a bit upbeat with the prospect of erections at last.
My wife has been mildly interested in all of this. But, tonight, she said she will never have the libido I have. She doesn't even want to take the testosterone supplements she needs. Maybe I have overreacted but it was like sticking a knife in my chest. Now, I am completely in doubt if I should get an implant if it is going to be unused with my wife. This ED thing has wrecked my self concept and now it is getting worse. I am just so damn frustrated with this. I know wives and girlfriends of men with ED have to go through a lot and suffer with the lack of intercourse. But, we men with ED have to overcome tons of emotional emasculation along with the physical issues trying to get a solution to the problem. Sigh.....
Kind of troubled right now...

Hello,
I'm currently using injections & while not perfect, they do work for me. I too have to consider that an implant might be the last step. Because I have United Healthcare as well I'd be interested in what your Dr's workup looks like & IF United will cover it.
As far as what else you wrote I agree its a tough road but I back you in doing this & just trusting it will all come back together for you & your wife.
Good luck,
Trucxrule

Yes go ahead and do it,I hadnt had sex with my girlfriend in 3 years, she turnd herself off to sex at least with me,but since ive had the ams (which) she doesnt know about, ive been slapping her butt and kissing on her neck just messing with her though out the day,im not activated yet came home 30% inflated well she had her way with me and was very happy and i just keep kissing and slapping and she just keeps coming and its great. I said all that to say you have got to take your time and warm her up, just like we got scared to get things started but the inplant she's feeling the same way after all who wants a let down

JamesG,
I had a Titan Touch implanted in mid-March & I'm extremely pleased with the results. I also have Type II diabetes. I tried all the oral medications & they all worked for a while then stopped working. I used a vacuum pump & it gave me a nice firm erection but even with a very tight constrictor band I couldn't maintain the erection. I strongly suggest you get the operation done - hopefully your wife will change her mind but even if she doesn't - do it for yourself - for your own self-esteem.
It's great that you're on this site. There's a lot of wisdom & experience here. With United Healthcare, you have access to a great number of surgeons. I strongly suggest you go see a surgeon who does a lot of these operations every month. I don't know where you live but I live outside Atlanta & traveled to Philadelphia for my operation because I wanted a high-volume implant surgeon. I figured whatever problem(s) he saw in me he's probably seen & solved a dozen times already.
I wish you the best.
