Curious about Implants

Postby stkman » Sat Jul 19, 2014 6:55 am

Hello Gents,
stkman here and I am new to the Club. I have had diabetes for 12 years and only been serious about it for 11. I been having problems with ED off and on during that time span. Now its more off than on. Tried Yohimbe, Pumps, Viagra, Cialas, Levitra, and Muse. At first, all as fine, now not so much. I am going to Urologist on July 29th for consultation for implant. Being a Veteran, I don't have to pay. I have 3 choices, all AMS, 700lgx, Ambicor and Malleable. Any thoughts? Also, any good suggestions about the type of questions I should ask? Welcome your input

stkman,

I am pleased to see that you are going to go ahead with your implant surgery. I had IPP surgery on August 6, 2013 and the urologist/surgeon implanted an AMS 700MS LGX unit. I have had the unit about one year now and I am really pleased with the results. According to the hospital surgery notes, my uro did a stretch test at the beginning of my surgery and my penis measured 4-1/2" length. The night before surgery I injected a very strong dose of Tri-Mix and my wife helped me measure my length and girth. My length at full erection was 5-1/4" and the girth was 5" BPL. I had done a stretch test earlier in the month when my uro and I were talking about size and I measured 4-3/4".

Almost 1 year later I now measure the following: 6" length x 5-3/4" girth. I am very pleased with the new size and the uro told me at my last visit that I should continue to gain a bit more in length and girth and then at that point I will have reached the limits of the implanted cylinders. The one thing my uro did was to implant a bigger reservoir (100 mg) than what was standard and that gives me a bit more ability to stretch things better.

The only concern I have at this point is that I don't have much sensation in my glans and when I am aroused from either masturbation or intercourse, the glans does not become engorged much at all. I know that it may take some more time to fully restore sensation as the nerves reconnect but I will have a discussion with my uro when I see him in about one month for my one year checkup. Other guys here on Franktalk have suggested that I take just a small amount of Viagra and that helps relax my tissue and allows blood to collect in my glans. I do understand (according to Dr. Eid, one of the top implant specialists) that about 53% of men have this concern at the one year point in time. Dr. Eid has developed a special gel that he injects around the rim of the glans that probably works like botox and increases the size of the glans. But according to his website, that is just a temporary fix and the patient will need to return occasionally to get additional injections.

As far as I understand the different types of implants, the AMS 700 series is a three piece unit, the Ambicor is a two piece unit and the other option is just a flexible rod that keeps your penis the same size but a bit stiffer so you can achieve penetration. The 2-piece unit has the reservoir with the pump and that limits the amount of fluid you would have available to inflate the cylinders with. I RECOMMEND THE 700 SERIES AND I AM PLEASED WITH MY LGX CHOICE BECAUSE I ALREADY KNOW THAT IT DID INCREASE MY PENIS SIZE WHEN ERECT.

Let me know if you have any additional questions. I am willing to share any part of my experience with you.

Keep the thoughts positive,

Bob

Hello chandlerman4649,
thank you for your reply and support. I go to the urologist on 7/29. I am hoping for the AMS LGX. My only concern would be if the Dr doesn't go the extra mile and give me the max length/girth I can handle. I know beggars cant be choosers but I'd like to keep close to what I have. I also have concerns about the penis head getting soft. Does it interfere with performance if I might ask?

stkman,

Don't dream too big. There can be severe consequences if the surgeon implants the wrong size cylinders. Too long and the cylinders kink and possibly twist or protrude through the tissue and skin. Too small and the penis head will be floppy and intercourse will be difficult. My urologist was a VERY patient and understanding doctor. He and I had several conversations about guys who end up losing size and he assured me that he was confident that my penis size would be the same with the potential of a BIT more length and girth with the AMS 700MS LGX (Length and Girth eXtendable). I am wonderfully impressed with the end results of my surgery.

I can assure you that most guys here on FT would rather have a shorter rock hard erect penis than a longer but floppy penis that can't get or maintain an erection. Remember also that most women would also have a shorter, erect penis to pleasure them than a long floppy one that no longer works. And most women (by survey reports) need only 3" of penetration to achieve a pleasurable experience.

Just be sure you have this discussion with your urologist. Let him know that size is a MAJOR concern and ask him if there is anything you can do before surgery that will help him in choosing the correct size unit. IF HE BLOWS YOU OFF AND SAYS THERE ARE MORE IMPORTANT THINGS IN LIFE THAN THE SIZE OF YOUR PENIS......I STRONGLY RECOMMEND FINDING ANOTHER IMPLANT SURGEON. And if he has that attitude, I'd be sure to let him know that you are going to get another consultation with a more understanding urologist.

Best of luck as you go through the preparation for this awesome life changing experience. It's been an absolute blessing for me.

Bob,
Great advice! It's important to remember it's your body, your concerns should not be dismissed by your surgeon.
