How to open and apply MUSE

Postby BTM-in-Tenn » Wed Dec 10, 2014 4:07 am

Hi everybody, My Dr gave me MUSE to try since I had prostate cancer. I had my prostate removed about 18 months ago in in Vanderbilt. How do you open the MUSE so the button is out to apply the seed? Im pretty capable to work on things but this is kicking my butt. Thank you

See the training video on this page: http://www.muserx.com/hcc/about-muse/ho ... -muse.aspx

If asked, I wouldn't recommend Muse to anybody based on my experience, but hopefully you'll have better luck.

Dave, thanks for the information and video. What side effects did you have? I still cant figure out how to pop that button so I can inject myself. Any help?

My side effects were ineffectiveness and pain (aching that lasted a couple of hours after application). If the Muse had worked I might have stuck with it, but since it didn't I discontinued using it after several attempts. It's been several years since I used Muse, but I don't recall any difficulty with the button - after inserting the stem into the urethra I just remember pressing the button on top to release the medication. I seem to remember that you don't have to press it very far to release the med. Unless you're concerned about wasting a dose you could try releasing a dose without inserting the stem, and watch what happens when you do. Other than that I don't know what to suggest, other than contacting your doc and explaining the difficulty you're having.

Good luck!

Btm,

On popping the button. I have had a (bad?) batch of MUSE whose injectors were REALLY REALLY hard to pop the button on. What I had to do was score the tip (where the pellet is to pop out) with an X-acto knife and then the thing would open up with less pressure.

My newest batch did not seem to have that problem. I just use the pellets to make Trimix -- not for actual urethral injection so I just pop the pellet and dissolve it. Urethrally the pellet worked OK for me but can give you a GOOOOD ache when it is at a level that is enough for a good erection...

But you should try it and see . then maybe move on to something else.

I never refilled my first prescription. I had great difficulty with the applicator, seeing the muse on the tip, and seeing if the muse was off after trying to slide the applicator up my urethra. The only way I knew I had gotten it in was a burning area on the underside near the tip. I was using it to supplement cialis, and was never convinced it made my erection any firmer.
