Brothers, I would appreciate your input.
Brief history: As I reported earlier, I underwent my second revision last month. I was first implanted with a Coloplast Titan in June, 2011 but had to have a revision on December, 2011 due to floppy head problems. Things went OK afterward until one of the cylinders developed a bulge--so back I went to the operating room on December 22. This time I got an AMS 700 CX.
My question is: Should I call a lawyer? I have no problem with the care I received from my doctor. He's been great. However, if what the doctor told me is true, the reason I had to undergo this recent revision was because the product itself was defective. I'm not looking for a lot of cash. Primarily I just want to recover my co-pay (my health insurance covered the lion's share of the costs) which totals $375, the cost of medications and maybe just a little something for my inconvenience, pain/suffering, etc.
What do you think?

Should I call a lawyer?
Re: Should I call a lawyer?
My opinion only - if you're just looking to recover a few dollars (relatively speaking) the legal fees will dwarf the award. In the end it may not be worth the hassle. You might see if you can get a free initial consultation with an attorney just to get an opinion (hopefully you can find one who doesn't try to talk you into something that benefits him/her more than yourself).

Re: Should I call a lawyer?
For a few hundred dollars I would definitely, absolutely not try to get a lawyer involved. I think you've got some potential to call one of the doctors, maybe one of the device companies, to go to bat for you. As long as the situation you're in is OK, it's also hard to prove all that past stuff took place. Who did the most recent? Sounds like a complex issue, I'll give the most recent guy some credit for taking on a tough case. I hope you're doing well- my opinion is try all the "nice" ways first.
