Nashville area doc?

Postby quigleyt57 » Sat Jul 18, 2015 2:05 pm

I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with any docs from the Nashville areas Urology Associates? Dr. Morris did my radical prostatectomy in early 2012. I met with Dr. Milam from Vandy and he seemed great but very costly and I'm having to pay my own way since BCBS won't. :( AMS will finance the procedure for me, and I have to pay them back, finance free over a 24 month period. Dr. Morris recommended a colleague of his with Urology Assoc whom he said has a lot of experience with implants. And they actually do the procedure at their surgery center, which helps lower the cost. Just curious if anyone else out there has experience with them
( ... urology associates in Nashville that is)?

Urology associates cost will be a grand total of 14,660 ... that includes the implant, the doctor, anesthesiologist, and the surgery center.

Thanks much!!

I used Dr. porch with this group for my prostatectomy very good doctor, but I do not know Dr.Morris or how much experience he has with implants. Dr. Milam is Highly recommended on this form.I would suggest you research both and pick the he best qualified. Good Luck!

BCBS won't pay for Dr. Milam? I've called BCBS of Alabama several times on this, and each time they said he was in network.

Look up Dr. L. Dean Knoll. He is a high volume Urologist.

I'll tell you guys again- if you're going to travel even 45 minutes, I'd really look into Dr. Kramer in Baltimore- arguably best in the US and great guy. Read the posts on here, I couldn't agree more.

Agree with ValPinto- I found Kramer to be a star. Saved me from worrying about whether or not things would work out OK- piece of mind was there, and finished product great.
By the way sensation to my scrotum is still a bit off, it's numb in a triangular area below my penis. It kind of annoys me. However I think that area is getting smaller, and Kramer told me some incisional numbness is inevitable.

Will BCBS not pay for the procedure at all or not Dr. Milam because he's out of network?

Dr Milam did an outstanding job for me. BCBS (Fed Blue) in conjunction with medicare took care of it all.
