I've read many times here that some doctors recommended using a vacuum device in the weeks before surgery to keep as much length as possible. Can anyone here say with certainty that it works? Has anything been quantified as to how much, if any, length is kept or gained?
Saw Dr. Milam on Friday, and I'm still trying to decide whether to pull the trigger on this.

Re: Vacuum device before implant--how much help?
Thats a difficult thing to answer conclusively. I used my pump daily for 8 wks before surgery based on what other guys here said. I think it helped maintain my length. I am the same length i was prior to surgery at 6.5". It gave me a hand (pun intended) in my own outcome. I was actively doing something i believed would help. But i have no way now of knowing if i would have lost length by not using it. The thing i do know for sure was it helped me have a positive attitude and thats worth a lot.
If you do make up your mind to go for it i believe you wont regret it. I am 6 wks post op, no pain and a dick that works when i want it to for as long as i want it to. No pills. No pumps. No needles. Just a hardon like i had years ago.
All the best to you.
Mick

My doctor and his assistant, Tom Sellers, have done extensive research on this topic, and published their findings in the AUA journals, just Google vacuum protocol, Dineen, Sellers, and you can read their results. I more than followed the protocol prior to my implant, and I did not lose size at all.
63, Central Florida area, ED for two years. Implanted with Coloplast Titan Touch (22 cm w/ no RTE's) March 23, 2015 in Daytona Beach by Dr. Martin Dineen.

On the other hand, I did no vacuum or any other type of penile exercise pre-implant and I didn't lose any length either.

I ordered a device. I suppose it can't hurt to do the exercises a couple times a day.

Andrew Kramer did my implant. I never discussed VED with him, and he never mentioned it. He's been quoted here as saying he doesn't think it has much effect, but there's no reason not to try it if you want to.

Under the New Members section, I told my story of implant for Peyronies. Paul Perito gave me a program that involved meds and supplements, as well as the pump, which I used, but only half as much as he prescribed. I threw in an extender, used every day, and in 3 mo prior to surgery did gain a tiny bit of length.
