Postby Sugarcane » Sat Aug 29, 2015 6:41 pm

Hello everyone, I need input from all you guy's that used injections and now have a implant. I had prostatectomy 5 yrs.ago, have used pills that never worked, used pump Not for Sex! I used Trimix 4 to 6hr.boners,2 trips to ER! Uro put me on pge1 8 months ago with 2 to 3 hr. Boners much better.I am worried about scar tissue because I have used injections for almost 5yrs.I am considering getting a implant even though the injections work and the fact that I can be more spontaneous as we always have to plan sex with injections. My question to you guys is would you have gotten a implant If you were me! Thanks.

I skipped the injections after only a couple of tries and went straight for an implant - best decision I've ever made. Go for it!

Hello,

I am using pills and so far they are working. However, i was thinking to skip the pills all together and get an implant. The confidence and spontaneously of implant beats any pill or injection. I don't think I ever inject myself. Most of the guys who inject end up with scar tissue. Besides, injecting would just kill the mood.
Doctors think of sex as something mechanical, just because injection gives you erection, it doesn't translate into good sex.
Find a high volume experienced surgeon and get your sex life back.

I started out with Viagra a few years ago, but wasn't happy. When I found out about injections last year, I thought they were lifesavers. They were hit and miss, though, with them sometimes not giving decent erections even when I was certain I'd hit the spot. I kept having to increase my dosage. I started at 20 units, and today I used 60 and didn't have a hard erection. I've been using more and getting less results.

As I mentioned in a thread in the Injections forum, the injections have given me scar tissue which has given me Peyronies and a loss of length.

I didn't want to do an implant, but I see no other alternative. I want it done now.

Same happened to me! Injections suck, they are bloody dangerous. 11 days ago I received an implant (Coloplast Titan Zero Degree).

I used injections BIMIX for 6 months and had a very narrow range of dose. Too little units and an inadequate erection and just a little bit more med and 3-4 hours of a raging erection that made going outside the house uncomfortable both physically and visually. Spontaneity was non existent as I would have to prepare and run off to inject and then walk around saying Im ready! Implant MUCH better than all the rest of the solutions including pills (side effects of headache, reflux symptoms, flushing, backache), vacuum (cmon really), intraurethral (aching and inadequate erections). Over my urologists scarey warnings of infections and failure of implants but I will do one if you want, I had Dr Kramer who was hours away in Baltimore do an implant in April. Too soon to tell re long term success but so far the closest thing to natural yet other than really being a shower now not grower now even flaccid (wife commented on what a package the other day again) but erection hard when I say, for as long as I say, and down when I say. My wife cant pump it yet but never an issue for me to pump during foreplay. We are beginning to travel and no more worrying about carrying needles through airports or customs or worse still forgetting in the freezer at home. I am self contained again. For me it was the right time, right surgery and right doc.
66 year old with ED intermittently for years and consistently for the 2 years before implant. Tried everything. AMS CX 21cm+1 cm RTEs Dr Kramer 4/29/2015.
Revision 5/3/2021 AMS CX 700 21cm+2 cm RTEs.
Revision 2022 Titan XL 24 cm no RTEs.

Thanks guys for all your feed back it seems as you dislike injections as much as I do! I will be checking to see if my insurance will cover it or at lease part of it. I have Florida Blue Cross do any one know if they cover any of it? If Blue Cross does' t cover it I will wait till February when I go to medicare insurance. Does anyone know if Humana Advantage covers it?

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama, my current insurance company, covers the implant surgery 100% subject to deductible. The surgeon I'll likely be using--Dr. Milam of Nashville--is in Humana's Medicare Advantage network, too.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama has Dr. Milam in their network, and they pay 100% subject to deductible. That's why I'm going to have the surgery as soon as possible. I don't want to wait until I'm on Medicare and find out there's costs I wasn't anticipating. Besides, I've already paid my deductible for the year with treatments for Peyronies (which didn't work 100%).

You should call Blue Cross of Florida and, if they cover it, get it done now just in case.
