Fellow injectors-
My usual syringes were individually sealed in something similar to a band aide wrappers. When I ordered online for smaller gage syringes I received 100 in bags of 10 . All have orange needle and plunger covers but none are in individual wrap. Note on the bag says sterility assured in unopened bag but of course the bag is opened to remove each syringe ( duh). So the question is are these needles sterile even when not indivually wrapped at least till the Orange cap is removed ?

Needle sterility question
Re: Needle sterility question
That's the way mine come. I've used them that way for over 2 years now. I think the orange needle cover keeps them sterile.

Re: Needle sterility question
There are 2 covers on syringes packaged in that manner. There is a needle cover on the top of the syringe that's usually colored orange, and one on the bottom, which seals the plunger area. (can be either orange or white). Both ensure sterility as long as they are not removed
Re: Needle sterility question
What you received is normal. There's nothing to worry about there.
I've tried everything -- pills, injections pumps -- and now I am at the final frontier.

Re: Needle sterility question
Though I never bother, I believe it would be more important to sterilize the surface of the injection site than worrying about capped needles in an open bag.

Re: Needle sterility question
I was told by my urologist to swab the injection site and also wipe the top of the little bottle each time!
