AMS 700LGX won't deflate

Postby linnc809 » Sat Nov 07, 2015 11:55 pm

Had surgery six weeks ago. I went to the Doctor two weeks ago and he couldn't get my implant to deflate. I am going back to him Monday. I have tried to deflate but can't, but he couldn't either. I have found the button, and can squeeze it with all my might, but it won't release. Anyone else had this problem?

If you go to the AMS site there are a couple of downloadable pdf files about the LGX you can download. One is for patients and includes a troubleshooting section. For a device that won't deflate after pressing the button for at least 5 seconds do the following.

find and squeeze the sides of the block part of the pump for at least 4 seconds and release
squeeze the deflate button for at least 5 seconds and the cylinders should deflate

I have the same implant and found that deflating was the hardest part of operating the device when I first started cycling. With practice, 6 months later, I can deflate the implant in under 30 seconds. What I find is that pushing the button dead on the top of it doesn't always work and that if I press a litte off center it works every time. This might work for you and you will have to play a bit to find the right spot. It really doesn't need a lot of pressure to operate once you get the sweet spot.

The advice on deflation in the patient manual is to support the block from underneath with fingers and press the button with your thumb. Be sure to press long enough. I have found that I can get good quick deflation If while operating the deflate button I squeeze my penis at the same time. I can actually feel the saline returning to the reservoir. It is a buzzing feeling under my thumb and when it stops I let the button go.

Hope this helps.
