Surgeo - a new choice for patients

Postby Frank Talk Admin » Mon Dec 28, 2015 1:00 pm

Guy,
I was interviewed last week by a doctor in Florida who has started a new service to put patients and surgeons together in the most economical setting possible. It's called https://surgeo.com. Basically, it helps patients find a total package (surgeon, hospital, anesthesiologist, etc) and the patient can shop around and find the best package for HIMSELF!

I know many men are not covered by insurance when it comes to penile implant surgery so this might help them. For example, here is there Penile Implant info: https://surgeo.com/penile-implant

They also help FINANCE surgery. So basically, it is surgeons who are engaged in improving healthcare delivery by empowering patients with knowledge, transparency, and choice. It is a brand new company and I thought it was something guys on here should know about - just part of education!

Here is what they have to say:
Suppose you need a surgical procedure? Where do you go? How do you know quality? And who's going to tell you the cost? The simple fact is that our healthcare system is poorly set up to provide correct, complete answer to a patient's simple questions. This is why a growing group of surgeons is putting together a new way to simplify access to quality care. This new service, which is called Surgeo, is based on the ideas that nobody knows surgeons like other surgeons and that patients want simplicity, service, and choice. It's a free market of highly qualified surgeons that delivers comprehensive, flat-fee service packages.

For example, what if you want a penile implant? In this case, you would look at the market's penile implant surgery packages and look at your choices. As of today, these range from New York to Arizona, and there is even a package in Seoul, South Korea. Every surgeon is peer credentialed. Every package includes surgeon, facility, anesthesia, choice of prosthesis, customer support, financing navigation, and up to $25,000 in complications protection.

Once you find the package you like -- you can compare by surgeon, cost, and location -- you can fill out an online consultation request form and have an off-line discussion with Surgeo's support team. And it's the same for other procedures: gastric sleeve, Peyronie's disease, prostatectomy, knee replacement, and so on.

I am from Canada. My family doctor referred me to a surgeon that performs the implant in October 2015, they didn't even reply to the request. Apparently I am to old. (79). I am a quadriplegic c6c7 since I was 19 due to motorcycle accident. My wife of 40 years died a 9 months ago of lung cancer. I want, in the future to to have some sort of a relationship, hopefully sexual. My family doctor asked me if I would still want to pursue this procedure. I said I did and that I didn't think it right to discriminate by age. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm not giving up hope. Is there anyone out there in my age category? Any Imputwould be appreciated. Bob,
