Blood flow into the head of the penis

I have heard that there is a possibility that blood can still flow into the head (glans) of the penis during stimulation even after the installation of a penile implant. Since the corpus cavernosum is removed and/or destroyed in the process of installing the penile tubes into the shaft, I assumed that there would no ability for blood to reach this area and engorge the head. Does anyone have any insight in this?

So the two cylinders that are installed are installed into the corpus cavernosa penis (and yes, they are no longer functioning for the purpose of providing an erection post surgery and I believe what they are referring to is the corpus cavernosum urethrae and that the engorgement of the head of the penis would be coming from that.

Guys: There are three tubes of erectile tissue in the penis, two side by side on top, the corpus cavernosum, the third is the corpus spongeousum on the bottom and carries the urethra.The glans gets its blood supply via the corpus spongeousum. Theoretically it should not be damaged by implant surgery, however if your problem involves venous leak, whether the glans can hold the blood supply could be problematic. I've red on this forum that some docs will prescribe aprostadil or 5mg cialis if the glans will not engorge.

Yes, blood can flow to glans and, in my case, I get stimulation and engorgement there. When aroused, I actually get the feel of erection in penis, but it is for the most part just a feeling, there is not enough firmness for penetration.....feeling certainly is welcomed.

During a doctor's presentation to a prostate cancer support group I was in, I learned that the glans engorgement (swollen penis head) process is a completely different one from the erection process. So even though I can't have an erection naturally any more, I am able to have an engorgement of the glans naturally (e.g. when I'm aroused and in the morning when I wake up -- I call it my "morning wood-ette"). Whether this function returns varies from man to man however.
