Fellow Franktalkers:
I am into my three day countdown to the bionic brotherhood. Jan 6 is the day, I report at 0600 to the surgical center. Started my precautionary Cipro this morning.
All the pre-op stuff is complete. To anyone who wants to see my history see posts on Jul 5, Aug 22 and Sept 25. under implants.
Wish me well and say a prayer for a good outcome.
I plan on keeping and posting a journal. I hope I can do justice to Merrix and Pockie. Thanks to all for your support and comments.

I have been writing very personal and detailed about my journey.
For three reasons, mentioned in no particular order:
It helped me going through the whole thing. It was, and still is to some degree, a way for me to deal with the tough times right after surgery. And it is a great documentation of the whole process which is interesting to go back to and remember what it was like.
A genuine will to spread information to others. I know I would have loved to read a journal like mine. I sure appreciated Pockie's detailed log book.
And finally, due to my shitty situation, alone in a hotel room on the other side of the planet from my home and my family over Christmas and New Years, I simply didn't have much else to do. It was/is a way for me to kill time.
