New Guy

Postby Trojan » Thu Jul 28, 2011 6:19 am

Hey everybody,
New guy Trojan here. Just wanted to introduce myself and say I'm looking forward to sharing some experiences with other guys who are coping with this terrible frustrating condition.

I'm happily married (28 years) with two daughters in college, just turned 50 and had a RP in mid February of this year. Have gotten incontinence mostly under control, but still "leaking" sometimes (use one pad a day). Absolutely no ability to achieve an erection and have been on 5mg Cialis daily for three months. I go back to my urologist next week and I think he will probably recommend the shots (Which scares the begeebies outta me!). Have been able to achieve "softie" orgasms through masturbation, BUT IT TAKES 3 HOURS.

Needless to say, at this point I'm about to go crazy, but it helps reading your experiences and suggestions here on the site. I hope to get to know some of you and hope that I too, if possible, can help someone.

Thanks and again HELLO!

Welcome to the club to which no one wants to belong, but glad it exists.
I also thought i would never be able to inject by sticking a needle in my dick, but I am now so glad I tried it ... erections happen for me in about 5 minutes, and last for hours. There is no longer the fear of mid-sex failure.
Trimix is my prescription, and the cost for each injections is only about $3.00 .

Tell your Urologist you want to try Trimix A.S.A.P.

Trojan,

I second everything Bill said. I've been injecting Trimix since November and it's like being 19 all over again. You'll get used to the idea of being a prick sticker very quickly and will end up wishing you could do it every day. Good luck on your appointment.

Thanks for the reassurance on using the injections. I have heard a lot of good things about them, I just need to get over that mental picture of the needle being the size of a baseball bat. I have a very supportive wife and she said she would even do it for me if I wanted. Actually I'm getting so frustrated, that I think I may be starting to look forward to trying it.

Well, thanks again and I'll let you know how it goes.

Trojan:

Welcome to the clan. With your surgery as recent as Feb there is still a lot of time to heal; but it's hell getting there. I'm also PCa with robotic surgery. Two thoughts. Firstly, 5 mg almost certainly won't get you up and running. I would suggest you, if you can, go to 20mg. I got nothing with 5 mg but it's a lot better with 20 mg. 2 Uros I talked with say the 5mg just doesn't work for penile rehab after PCa surgery. Also, are you pumping? Strongly recommend the activity. It's fun and the results are good for him and you as you look down to a full cylinder. I really think pumping has helped me the most and made the biggest difference.

Also, you might consider the new FDA approved product everyone is talking about the Viberect. Sounds as though this could be a big deal. I don't have one yet and as you will read it requires, for now a script. It sounds like a fun tool and it on my very serious consideration list. While it's not cheap, it would very well be worth the price if it works. Now, if you try the Viberect- please share with the rest of us your thoughts. That is how we all make progress; sharing with each other our progress.

There is a new post on injections and Bill has done a great job of the process. Please look it over and send Bill a PM, if you have questions. He is great and shares well.

Again welcome and join in Chat when you can.

Regards,

Dick

Welcome Trojan.

As a recent implant recipient (LGX 7 months), I've recently been through the journey. Looking back, it was not all that bad. Looking forward, the future seems quite bright. Gone are so many problems from the "before implant" days. Weird how my penis was dead for so long that many other "now" non-important things had taken over. It's as though the light is always on nowadays. I'm looking at things through a whole new set of cojones men! It can be a good thing. Sex is a reality! Hope we run into each other online Trojan.

Trojan: Welcome to FT. I agree with all that has been posted by my buddies. Most of us know each other fairly well. As others have said you are new to the game. Much time for healing. I started will the pump then pills and now on injections. Life is good again.

Join us in the Chat room. There is lots of fun to be had there.
