Is floppy glans a thing of the past?
Is floppy glans a thing of the past?
I had thought that "floppy glans syndrome" was just part and parcel to penile implants. But lately I have been reading that (most?) guys who get implants do not have to deal with it, have normal glans engorgement with their implants. Is this true? Is it due to some new technique or prosthetic type?
Genetically sky-high Lp(a) of 390 led to various heart diseases. Ultra-low testosterone of 120 (now 480 with Clomid) also contributed to ED at age 41. Managing with daily Cialis, but for me, the implant is a "when", not an "if".
Re: Is floppy glans a thing of the past?
"Floppy glans" has nothing to do with blood flow. It is the result of the cylinders not being sized correctly, and stopping short of the glans making penetrating very difficult. Some ppl even can bend their glans backwards. Sorry to say it is a common problem to this day among lesser skilled surgeons. Now a glans that has poor blood flow and or does not engorge is a different story. If an implant is done right, there should be no problems penetrating regardless of blood flow.
Re: Is floppy glans a thing of the past?
If an implant is done right, whatever blood flow to the glans you have before surgery should be the same after.

Hearing stuff like this doesn't help me with my decision in considering an implant!

That's why you need to go to a good surgeon. Contact Dr. Kramer in Baltimore.
Implanted by Dr. Andrew Kramer 2/22/17. 18 cm AMS LGX with 2 cm RTE's (total 20cm).
Activated 3/11/17. Best decision I've ever made.

Nocturne,
No it is not true ... don't believe everything you read on the Internet ...
"When the implant is inflated for intercourse it creates excellent rigidity in the shaft of the penis, but it does not address the fullness of the glans."
https://www.urologicalcare.com/penile-implants-prosthesis/glans-bulking-after-penile-implant/
Some guys have full engorgement ... but the majority of us have limited fullness in the glans. Blood flow has a lot to do with it ... however many guys have medical issues which interfere ... diabetes, high Cholesterol, etc. Venous leak is a major culprit too ...

Does sex still feel good with a less engorged glans?
I am 43 with premature heart disease and bad atherosclerosis. I don't need an implant now but I know I will eventually. How badly does lack of glans engorgement ruin sex with an implant?

Not an issue if the surgeon does the procedure correctly...the tips of the cylinders are placed toward the top of the glans to prevent a floppy glans. Ofttimes you hear about floppy glans in connection with an incorrect infrapubic procedure. Get with either Dr. Kramer or Dr. Eid and you won't have to worry...it'll get done right the first time...I have excellent glans support...
...69 years old, married over 30 years, serious ED for around 10 years. AMS 700 LGX 21 cm +3 cm RTE implanted by Dr. Andrew Kramer on Dec 7, 2016.
