Rookie Question

Postby Bigred » Sat Apr 01, 2017 8:32 pm

I.m a 66 YO. I've had ED for at least 10 years after having by-pass cardiac surgery. The heart and blood pressure pills did me in and now diabetic pills. I've had limited success with Viagra and Cilias but it's always taking a chance because of the possibility of having to use Nitro tabs. I've made the decision to go the implant route but don't really know where to start. After reading a lot of post, I think Kramer would be my choice. Since I'm in South Carolina, how do I start the process without having to make multiple trips for consultation and examinations? Thanks in advance

A lot of the really good doctors have patients coming from out of town, and so do phone or video consultations with the patients before scheduling surgery. For example, I exchanged many emails with Dr. Eid, and had a video consultation so he could look at my penis. When I go to NYC, I'll meet with him face to face two days before the procedure. I shouldn't need to return to NYC, as stitches can be removed by any doctor.

You'll probably need to see a cardiologist and maybe some other type of doctor and get those test results sent to the implant doctor.

I wish I'd known how little hassle there was in having this done out of town.

Yes, It's the same with Dr. Kramer. Just call the number and tell her what you want to do. They will email you a complete package. You can get all of the pre-op done locally. You would then meet with Dr. Kramer the day before your procedure. That's what I did. It was smooth and easy.

shooter1000 is correct. Dr. Eid told me phone consult then see him, do lab work day before. Dr. Kramer let me do lab work here and I was to see him the day before but instead I saw him 30 minutes before surgery. Sent him pictures with measurements and had several phone conversations a couple weeks before. These people are skilled at making it easy. About time all medical people get professional about this. I've been dealing with 1 stupid issue after another for weeks trying to get my dad's cataract surgery done. One of the simplest surgeries there is and it consumes 1/2 days at a time testing and getting pcp o.k.'s and other such B.S. Eid and Kramer both have people that have been with them for years and know what is needed and all their people respond.
LGX 21cm .Milam 01/13/16. Horror; both service and surgical outcome. hated infrapubic installation. Kramer revision 03/01/17. 22cm Titan +1.5cm extender. Those who think their opinion is the only one that matters are a danger to themselves and others.

Call Connie at Dr. Kramer's office. She's got all the info you need re: Medicare/health insurance coverage etc. You'll have to get your pre-op testing done within 30 days of your procedure. You generally see Dr. Kramer on a Tuesday (the day before your surgery on Wednesday). I agree w/ the other posters: Kramer has the pre-op process down to a science & makes it as easy as possible for you...great staff help both at his office and UMMC.

Implanted March 2nd by Dr. Kramer with AMS/LGX. Had a problem lower left (scar tissue) and he placed a larger (thicker) implant as you can here on the YouTube video. Got all back, ED over 10 years before Implant.

Hi Bigred
Just like you, 20 yrs. ago I had cardiac bypass surgery. 3 yrs ago I had a cardiatric stent inserted in an artery. I'm also a type 2 diabetic. I also take pills for blood pressure as well as cholesterol. I am 70 yrs old tomorrow.
11 months ago I had implant surgery successfully preformed by Dr Kramer He is very skilled and very personable. I would give him my highest recommendation.
Call Connie at Dr Kramer's office and she will walk you through the whole deal. Very organized.
Patients come from all over the world to have this surgery preformed by Dr Kramer.
I hope my experience has been helpful in your decision making.
