Numb

Postby MichaelM » Wed Jun 14, 2017 10:09 am

I am 4 weeks after implant surgery. I still have to wrap the scrotum, it seems to weep, but no blood. I tried leaving it open to the air, but that didn't help. I go to the urologist in 3 days for my 1 month visit. Not much pain, but my penis is numb. Obviously I will not be using it for sex (at least for me). But 4 years after radical prostatectomy, my penis had disappeared and I can see and use it now. I couldn't even sit down to pee since I couldn't direct it and the stream would go under the seat and above the bowl and straight onto the floor. I am very unhappy about the numbness. After 4 weeks, I don't expect any nerves to spontaneously reconnect. I am ruined.

Give it more time..... You really have no choice anyway.... With my 3 implants, I found that nerves continue to "reconnect" over several months. I'm 3.5 months post-op and have numbness along the top of my dick. I'm sensitive along the lower side and the lower side of the glans. I also have "cold head", again on the top. I've had the cold head after each implant, worst after the first implant. I think that first surgeon "damaged" the nerve on the top.

You (and I) can expect improved results with the passage of more time. Good luck..

Sorry to hear your numb. Anytime your numb on your dick it's scary. After my surgery I had a strip on the bottom side of my dick about a half inch wide and two inches long just from where the head started down the bottom of the shaft that was numb. It took about six months and numbness disappeared. Wish you the best.

My dick was numb after my Milam implant and for the most part still is. There is a spot under the glans on the bottom of the shaft where the frenulum normally is that has a little sensitivity after the Kramer implant. I've been told the only successful malpractice cases against surgeons pertaining to implants have been over numbness, that the cases are easily won, the evidence irrefutable and cause totally avoidable. Not wanting to stir up more here I am not going to tell the names of the top doctors who told me this but you can assume it is a short list.

To those who said they had numbness on the bottom, that is where mine is. Unfortunately, that used to be the most sensitive, and the area I would assign as triggering an orgasm. While I no longer ejaculate, before the implant, I could still have an orgasm, but that sensitivity is now gone. In fact, "pleasurable" is now gone. The entire underside of the penis from the tip to about halfway back is numb. And quite honestly, money won't give me back what I want. The top still has feeling but it is as pleasurable as stroking my index finger.

Was this procedure done infra public or peno scrotal? This is more common after infra public. I have had it done using both methods, and the numbness was much more pronounced with infra pubic.

Plumber, If this question was intended for me, I've never heard either of those terms, this implant was done 4 years after my prostatectomy that sacrificed the nerve. The implant was done by cutting into my scrotum right at the base of my penis and going downwards toward the bottom of the sack. Apparently, they did everything through that hole in my scrotum, if that answers your question. Sorry, I'm new to this and don't know the terms.

After my implant procedure my penis was completely numb except for about 5% which seemed like it was trying to make up for the other 95%. Unfortunately, the 5% was so intense that it was painful. It was like this for about 4 months and now everything is completely normal and back to the way it was prior to my radical prostatectomy and implant surgery.

I had mine done as infrapubic.
