Hey guys,
I found this study : https://www.medifind.com/articles/clini ... al/4524071 , https://ctv.veeva.com/study/bioengineer ... le-corpora
It's the first study i came across where they are implanting bioengineered corpora in humans.
Set to start in Jan. 2025 and ends in Oct. 2025.
I find this very exciting and thought it might be of interest to some of you
Cheers

Re: First human clinical trials on bioengineered cavernosa
It looks fascinating, but am I understanding correctly that they will need cadavers to construct each new penis?
Born 6/15/74. I have substantial venous leak with fairly severe hour-glassing, but no hard plaques. My urologist is sexual health expert Dr. Laurence Levine who performed a Doppler Ultrasound and diagnosed me with VL in 2020. I also have mild BPH

yes, there is a need of cadavers for each corpora cavernosa/albuginea.
It wii take ages until a pilot study becomes reality , but still a new promising begoning, however this has only a chance if the artificial implants were bad, but currently I see the implants on the market work very well and will get even better, like with new pump technologies and material that is used.
cheers

Implant July 20th, 2023, AMS LGX 18cm plus 5 cm RTE
That was the best I could ever do and I should have done it much earlier.

I think the difficulty of having a cadaver available for each penis would make it challenging to use this for standard erectile dysfunction.
I think this research is probably being used to look for potential treatments for people who have had injuries or disfigurements.
I don't see a biological alternative to implants on the horizon for some time ahead
And thanks for the video. I think it is useful. I will make one or two also after my implant, because it is helpful to men like myself looking to get the operation

you are right with the cadaver it only makes sense for those who are having issues where artificial implants can't be used.
Yes, a video makes it easier to decide if one can see the results and how the implant is functioning.

Re: First human clinical trials on bioengineered cavernosa
I'm curious which problems this would fix.
In my case, I don't think the problem was related to the cavernosa itself, but to the "blood plumbing." My hunch is that this wouldn't have been a solution for me. But I'm just guessing based on the limited information in the study request.
