Recommend a vacuum erection device

Postby lowrider » Wed Feb 13, 2019 12:15 pm

Met with Dr. Hakky this morning to discuss implant surgery. Heexplained to me why I should use a VED every day for 4 weeks before surgery. So, I go on amazon and typed in ved, and more than 3 pages of choices/brands. I don't want to waste my time/money on what doesn't work well, so I am hoping some of you good folks can recommend a ved based on personal experience/success. Any opinions are worth listening to and appreciated. Thanks, lowrider.

ps: watched a youtube demo with a product, Encore, are they worth the extra bucks?

Hi, I have used the Soma unit for over a year now, you have a choice of 4 cylinder sizes which cover a large range of girths, all will take a 8 inch long cock, not cheap but i find very good and simple to use,

The only medical grade pump I have experience with is the ErecAid System Esteem manual VED https://www.erecaidpumps.com/osbon-erecaid-esteem-manual-on-sale/. I've had it for a number of years and it has held up well with minor exceptions that haven't substantially effected it's function.

The release button for the constriction ring applicator broke but it's not necessary and the design could have done well without it. There is or was a little foam plug that I assume is to keep foreign matter out of the pump mechanism from within the tube. It repeatedly fell out until it was lost. I haven't noticed any negative effects from it's loss.

With the supplied tube I think it would max out at 8.25" or so in length. No more than that. Unfortunately that hasn't been an issue. It is just big enough for my girth at the opening but I'm girthy. The opening has an inside diameter of 2". It also comes with an insert that will reduce it about 1 3/4" if needed.

The model I have is manual but it works well enough that I really don't see much point in an electric model. It's easy to operate with one hand. I guess it could be an issue with more severe arthritis.

The vacuum release is conveniently located and easily operated with a finger of the hand you're holding the pump with. It releases the vacuum quickly and can easily be operated so as to give just a partial release if desired.

This VED does not have a gauge and I don't think there is really a practical way to add one. Well, I suppose I could drill a hole near the top of the tube and ....... You get the idea. Jeez! I'm sorry I even let my mind drift off that way. Well, anyhow, I haven't really seen much need. I pump until it's a bit uncomfortable and then back off a smidge. That seems to work just fine.

This pump is a medical grade pump and I don't know the current price. I'm sure it costs more than it should but it is certainly better quality than the novelty pumps I've seen.

I've also tried a couple of novelty (sex shop) pumps. The quality of the ones I tried weren't in the same ball park at all.

I won't claim the VED I have is the best one. It's the only medical grade VED I've tried. Others could be much better or maybe just a better value.

YMMV

I don't think you need to spend a ton of money. Based on your op you need one to get ready for implant surgery and need to use it every day for 4 weeks prior to your surgery.

Did your Urologist give you a specific set of exercises to do with the pump in preparation?

I use a Leluv that was about 11 dollar on Ebay.. It is adequate and I would think ideal for your purpose.

I do not have an implant, but I have used the Encore Impo-Aid for several years. Bought it from https://www.adwdiabetes.com/category/va ... ion-device. Currently runs about $108 for the battery operated pump which is the one I use. It has worked well for me.

As my 1st reply was essentially a review I edited it a tad and put it in the Members Reviews of Products. https://www.franktalk.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=11808&p=101886#p101886

Anybody care to do a review on their favorite VED or penis pump?

If you are only going to use it for four week in preparation for surgery, I do not feel you should spend the money on a “medical” type VED. Instead, you should buy a quality sex shop type penis pump with a vacuume gauge. You need one with a wide base for comfort. LeLuv makes a good quality system - cylinder. Hose, and brake bleeder pump ($70). https://www.amazon.com/LeLuv-Cylinder-U ... B00MV8QXLO

It is important to get a properly sized cylinder:

Cylinder sizing according to,LAPump

Girth —---> Cylinder Diameter
3.50 to 4.50* --> 1.50
4.75 to 5.25* --> 1.75
5.50 to 6.00* --> 2.00
6.25 to 6.75* --> 2.25
7.00 to 7.50* --> 2.50
7.75 to 8.25* --> 2.75

Pump twice a day at 5 inches of mercury (hg) starting with five minutes per session for the first week then add 5 minutes a week until you hit 20 minutes, the max time under vacuum you should not exceed.

Okay, so I read a couple of threads in this section and decided that I want to try using a pump for an erection, instead of an attempt to gain size prior to surgery/implant. In fact, Dr. Hakky was surprised when I said I wanted to skip pumping and injections and go straight for the implant. However, it seems that I should at least try to use the pump first. So, with that, any opinions on how best to use it? I ordered a Encore manual pump from amazon and should have it next week. Thanks in advance, lowrider.

60 days of VED use was recommended by one protocol I read in a medical journal. But even lesser amounts of time are beneficial. I vacuumed for over a year (while I gained authorization for surgery and searched out a surgeon I would accept) and am glad I did.

Benefits included:

Restoration of recently lost size
Easier insertion of the implant during surgery
Easier (less discomfort) recovery period

I found the lack of a vacuum gauge to be a minor inconvenience. But since you already ordered one, this fact might be only useful to future readers of this thread.

Good luck.
