this is frustrating, when at the doc office I got a great reaction from the injection. Since then I have had luck with 1 out of 3 injections. I think I am having trouble finding the sweet spot. I just ordered a 1/2 inch needle. I am currently using a 5/16.
I just want to get this process in gear.
Is this normal to not have a success at first?
Can't find the Sweet Spot
Re: Can't find the Sweet Spot
Paperboy,
What's normal for me might not be normal for you. Don't give up. If the happy juice worked once, it will work again. Maybe you should have a quick conversation with the uro or the nurse--or even the pharmacist--about "best practices" pertaining to injection protocol. Also check out the injection discussion threads on this site; you'll gather a wealth of information that could prove to be valuable as you continue to refine your technique. For sure, don't give up. I've been a pricksticker for 18 months now and have had great success. I'm sure you will get there as well.
Best wishes for hard times,
Greg

Paper,
You are just manually injecting right? No auto-injector? If so, and if you are indeed just missing the mark somehow,
or maybe you just have a tough sheath around those corpus cavernosi?
Whatever the reason, the best way to tell if you are in the sweet spot is by feeling how much force it takes to depress the plunger on the syringe (also you might feel a little give when actually pressing the needle in as you pass thru the wall of the CC .. but that is subtler to detect -- i can hardly tell even after 18 months of shots).
But the pressure when depressing the plunger should be no more than if you were injecting into the air. If you are not in the CC it will be very hard to depress the plunger. If you feel it is taking too much pressure you can either dig in some more with some little jabs (don't have to start over just press in more even dimpling the skin with the syringe body ). Then try pressing plunger again. If it feels like less pressure is now needed you are probably in the CC and ready for liftoff.
Hope that helps ... (out of 300 shots .. only 1 miss and that was corrected by continuing pushing the needle in further).

Re: Can't find the Sweet Spot
Hey Paperboy,
That suggestion of poking at 2PM and 10AM is good, I think 3PM and 9AM is good too. I find that working my penis just a bit to plump up a little fatness before I inject helps me. Be sure you are going in at 90 degrees to the shaft. The 5/16 ought to be fine, but like said, you can push a bit harder after it bottoms out, forcing the nose of the syringe into ypour flesh just a bit to gain an 1/8 or 1/16 inch more depth rather than going to 1/2 inch needles. I can massage the side of the shaft and feel the CC pretty easily inside the shaft if I plump it up just a tadge. Let us know your results.

Thanks guys..
I think i need to stimulate a little before, plus I need to concentrate more on the 90 degree angle and I need to press hard on the injection point after to press in the meds to the necessary spot.
I'll let you know.
Mike

Mike,
If you haven't already, be sure to look up and study a cross section drawing of a penis. Seeing the location of all the internal parts sure helped me.

I agree with what has been said. Depending on how thick you re when flaccid, I always found it helpful to arouse myself a little before to try to get it bigger so I have a better idea where to inject. You can feel the spongy part better. Also you may want to inject nearer the base of the penis

Re: Can't find the Sweet Spot
Well I certainly found the sweet spot last night. I had an erection for 2.5 hours. I was able to subside enough to fall asleep, then I woke up this morning at 5:30 with a huge erection again for 1.5 hours. I ended up going to an Urgent Care worried of Priapism.

I know the feeling. Its either feast or famine. Next time take 4 30 mg Sudafed instead of going to ER. I bet they didnt know what to do or say.
Re: Can't find the Sweet Spot
Paper,
Well the kind of good thing about heading to the ER/Urgent Care is you got to show it off to some nice nurses I am sure.
About this. I am no doctor, but here's the rule I follow: If at any time during your injection erection cycle, if you do get some subsidence or softening -- even if only for 5 or 10 minutes -- and then it rehardens after -- you can sort of restart the clock for calculating the 4 hour window. The softening signals some replenish of blood so that is why you should restart the P-Clock if you re-erect after that. I've never really had to worry about the rule but for other readers it might help calm your nerves. Maybe even discuss with your doc and see what he thinks ( often they'll ask you about such things too if you were to call during an Emergency).
Also yes, going to sleep can enhance the length of time for a big E -- either because you are lying down (better flow?) or during REM Sleep you would normally get nerve signalling for nocturnal erections (if you gotta nerve left).
Good to see you are getting Major Wood tho ... much better than General Wood or Private Wood ....!!
