implant side effects

Postby buckshot » Thu Jul 05, 2012 6:34 pm

After I have the implant surgery what do I have to look forward to in respect to side effects? Is there a chance of urinary incontinence...average length of time for recovery from the surgery...I really don't know exactly what to expect but, whatever it is, I hope it will be worth it to get the results my wife and I are hoping for!

Hey Buckshot! First off, when is your surgery? Congrats early. You can follow my progress here under "I'm in the club!". It's 4am right now, beginning of day 8 for me. Been driving the car, walking around a lot more. Stay flat on your back as much as possible. Keeps swelling down. I did too much too fast, like going grocery shopping with wife the day after surgery. That's how good I felt, until next day. Check out my journey and keep us all posted on your progress. Godspeed. I'll be praying for you brother.

marino...thanks for the reply...I haven't set the date yet...have a 2:15 appointment with my uro/surgeon today to get it started. I'll sure be keeping up with your progress 'cause I'll be following along closely behind you .Nothing else has worked so my hopes and prayers are that the implant will be a huge success.......JOE 8-)

We haven't set the exact date yet, but we are going for any available date after August 1st....I hope it will be August 2nd. I am ready to go right now if I could....after 14 months of trying everything, and failing, I am more than ready to get it going again! 8-)

Hey Buck, as far as side effects, just an increasing hardness everytime you pump. Actually, as far as urinary issues, should be none since ipp surgery doesn't affect the urinary sphincter. My situation was quite opposite. Urinary retention. Wife had to straight cath me for about 5 days since I couldnt start a stream on my own. Got off the percocet the day after surgery since narcotics cause retention for me. Pain control after that was more than adequate with 650mg of acetaminophen. Other than that, I'm just always super horny because I get a weekly injection of testosterone. Don't try to have intercourse at the end of week one, it's just plain bad. Shhh, don't tell Dr. Montague. Stayed in for about 5 minutes without moving. I see Dr. Montague tomorrow. Don't know if I will get the full tour of the equipment. Only 3.5 weeks out from surgery. Broke some scar tissue at the incision about 2 hours ago. Felt like little balloons popping. Kind of a frightening feeling. However, incision feels better now.
