hturner12,
No, not really, but PRT could stand for the phrase "Prostate Reduction Therapy" as that phrase seems to pop up fairly often. That acronym might be appropriate for that and would include both Rezum and urolift as well as TURP and TUIP. Unfortunately, I can't find the acronym being used that way anywhere. However, I most certainly can't find PRP being used for Prostate Reduction Procedure anywhere. PRP is found being used for Platelet Rich Plasma fairly easily and appears to be an acronym accepted for that use. I certainly don't care what the acronym is used on this site but your use might cause a small amount of confusion.

Dave, thank you very much for providing this service. When our members are reading, they will no longer have to stop, open a search engine, look up the word. You have a great collection of words. Now we need our members to step up and help you. To our very supportive members, please send dg_moore strange words or abbreviations. In order to find out if what you send, is what we need, if a word has tripped you up please send it to him. We are not looking for spelling mistakes. Again Dave, thanks for looking after that for us. :)

Glad to do it, Larry. Now if we could just get a link to the list added to the page banners so it's always visible, or maybe added to the Quick Links dropdown...

BPL - Bone Pressed Length - a protocol of measurement of penis length. Press a measuring stick against the pubic bone (into the pubic mount immediately above the penis) and measure the distance to the urethral meatus (the urethral opening at the tip of the glans). An alternative and little-used but perhaps more consistent (because of the need to grasp the glans in order to measure the length of a flaccid penis stretched to its maximum length) is to measure to the glans' coronal ridge, then add the length dimension of the natural glans (coronal ridge to urethral meatus).

Note: This should be a linear dimension (straightening any curve of the penile shaft) but NOT FOLLOWING the curve of the glans.

What is the context? One common expansion in the US is "General Practitioner", which is not heard as much as PCP (Primary Care Physician) these days.

I read this article below yesterday. Here you go...

”When my Uro retired I just used my GP. I went to my GP, who knew nothing on the subject, showed her an Edex box and asked her to write me a generic script for the same ingredients but a much stronger mix so I could take it to a compounder. I've continued the practice with her replacement. I then got a new Uro who didn't seem real knowledgeable on the topic so I continued working with my GP as by then I had it figured out to my satisfaction. Someday I'd like to find a good competent Uro knowledgeable about such stuff.”

Any luck? Thanks!

As dg_moore stated, General Practitioner or PCP if you prefer.

In our teens we used to say it was cool to "Eat out at the Y" or "Eat out at the Golden V". Same idea, I suppose.
