Red pill vs blue pill, what I mean by the Matrix reference, is, do you have any regrets having the RP?

If you had to do it all over again would you take the blue pill (watchful waiting)?

My vote? Blue pill!

Maybe I still would have had the surgery eventually but I would have tried many other ideas first. My euro did not explain the importance of the prostate. I'm 16 months past the surgery and really not even a quiver, without the injection. Pump don't really work, pills dont work, so Im not ready to take the implant plunge. Some honest guys admit its not so great either. If you still have the prostate, I think implant would work. I assume you would still c um and climax. I dont either now. whats your thoughts?

I think it is very dependent on your individual situation. My psa went up the first time at age 53. I had a biopsy and no cancer was found. I did antibiotics and my psa seemed stable until age 56 when it went up from 5 to 8. Another biopsy found 10 out of 12 positive samples. I had cancer on both sides with gleason score of 8. My uro explained the choices I had and recommended a book to read but said I should make a decision ASAP. He said I had a very aggressive cancer and watchful waiting was was not on the list of choices. After surgery the cancer was outside the gland so I had radiation as well. Yes, it has been difficult to live with the change in my life for the last 3 years but at least I am healthy and ALIVE to deal with it. My wife has a cousin that was diagnosed with PCa just over a year ago at age 50. They found it when he went to the doctor with lower back pain. Too late for surgery he has radiation and rounds of chemo and hormone therapy. His life has been a living hell and he will likely not live through it anyway. Needless to say I'm a firm believer in psa screening. I think the "watchful waiting" decision is a good one for older guys or guys with very low gleason scores but I would be very very watchful.

The book to read is by Michael Korda, a best selling author, who described his battle with prostate cancer. I figured that I am one step ahead, having had the implant last December. I am wondering "what will be" if I do get prostate cancer down the road???? Will it affect my bionic dick?
