My Dr. wrote a prescription for a VED, and now, looking at a medical supply house, there are so many options!!1 Looking at various models and what my out-of-pocket cost will be ranges from $97 to $122, so, for me, price not a determining factor.
I am leaning more toward a battery operated model, but other than that,How Does One Make A Final Choice??? Experiences, "Hands-On" stories, final results after VED'ing, partners reaction(s)/comments would be helpful. Thank You!!!

Re: So Many VEDs
I have used the Encore Impoaid manual and the Encore Deluxe both battery and manual models. As far as my wife is concerned, she got equal satisfaction out of all of them.
I preferred the ease of use with the Deluxe. I started with the manual model, but after five years the handle broke so I replaced it with the battery model. Even easier to use.
I found that the Osbon tension bands worked significantly better than the bands that come with the system
In my opinion, your wife will be unable to tell the difference no mater which system you end up with. Accordingly, the choice should be which product you feel will be most convenient for you to use.

I use an Erecaid Esteem manual pump. Don't be afraid of a manual pump. You really don't have to pump that much for it to be an issue at all.

I have both a pos-t-vac and an Encore Deluxe. 99.9% of the time I use the Encore. I find the Encore's method of applying the ring(s) to be easier than the Pos-T-Vac. An added bonus is the Encore has both a manual pump and a battery.
My advice is to practice on your own. Learn to efficiently use the pump before you add the ring(s) to the mix.
As stated here and elsewhere many VED users, myself included, prefer Osbon rings. I have a "collection" of rings I have experimented with over the years. It can become kind of pricey before you find the type, size, and number(1 or 2) of ring(s) that are optimal for you. Some guys are perfectly content with the rings that come with the pump.
My wife really enjoys the extra stiffness I can get with a pump and the right rings. It stays rock hard from start to finish. That extra stiffness also means the right lube is essential for her comfort and enjoyment.

AnotherOldMan, Thank You for your insight. Another question: When do you put your VED to use? When getting to the bedroom, after in bed for a while, do you excuse yourself for a short time, or do you get help in bed. Wife knows I'm getting VED, Just wondering how much I should try to involve her in process

Generally, the more supportive a wife can be, the more involved, the better the sex will be and the better the overall relationship will be.
Specific relationships can vary widely, but I find complete candor opens up the window of joy wider than otherwise.
Of course, I am single and have the option of finding another window if the one I am with resists opening up. The woman I am with now is completely wide open to any activities (at least the ones I am interested in), sexual or otherwise.
Having successfully avoided the marriage for 70 years, I now feel qualified to give advice on the institution to anybody. (I have seen any number of relationships succeed and fail and have the advantage of outside perspective.)

When do you put your VED to use?
What works for us may and probably is different for each couple. You should work out the logistics that work for you and your wife with her.
Whatever you decide it should be a mutual decision.
To answer your question(s), while I am pumping my wife is using her vibrator to get herself ready.
Since there is about a 20 minute window for wearing a restriction ring, the further along the road to orgasm she is when I penetrate the better the chance she can orgasm before that time is up. The few times that doesn't happen or she finds it won't happen, it is no big deal to come out, remove the ring(s), and pump up again.
Communication is essential.

I have an Encore manual pump. Over 10 years old and still working great. As others said, the manual doesn't take many pumps at all, so don't let that be a concern. It's just a personal preference whether you want a battery or manual. You really can't go wrong with either.
I always pumped before my wife and start the foreplay. Again, just a personal preference for you. I inject now, but keep the pump as a backup as well use it for ongoing penis conditioning. My really likes the firmness I get with the pump and rings. But the 'hinge effect' caused me some issues that I didn't like so I went the injection route. Each man is different so you may not have any problems with the 'hinge'. (if you don't know what that is, you can search for 'hinge effect' and there are other threads that explain). But I think you'll enjoy the pump knowing an erection is just seconds away at any time.
