Hey all. First day here. Found this site by googling for men’s sexual issues lol. Tough topic to bring up.
About me - real name Wes. Live in suburb of Phoenix Arizona. 38 years old. Healthy. No illnesses, no surgeries. Active my whole life.
Started noticing I wasn’t getting as hard as before. Seemed too young for that. Also now have a curve to my penis that wasn’t there before and a bump like thing on the shaft. But the not getting as hard is what scares me the most.
Was in the chat room earlier and some cool guys insisted I go see a doctor, which I’ll do. My family doc has seen me my whole life but he’s good friends with my folks. I know everything is confidential, it he’s like SOCIAL with my folks. I’d hate for any of my details to slip.
Any tips on a good doc in The Valley or even how to bring it up with the doc would be appreciated
Also - no disrespect to the guys in the chat, but am I too young for this site? If this is for more mature people I won’t be offended. Just don’t want to be where I don’t belong.
What else do you want to know? Telling anonymous strangers has to be easier than telling my doc in person lol.
That’s me. Hope to get this fixed.
Wes

Welcome to the forum.
Yes, definitely see a doctor. You should be able to discuss the issue with your primary care doctor. I wouldn't worry about that. No, you're not too young to be here.

Re: New Guy, Arizona
Reading a response from a guy in your area about a recommended doctor makes me so happy that there is FT for everyone.
Re: New Guy, Arizona
I went to see my urologist about a curve I have never had. He didn’t think anything of it! It wasn’t his penis. It was mine! I did not like his response. Doctor hopping is not good either. So I suppose I’ll live with the curve in m6 penis.

I, too was reluctant to tell my primary care physician. You could break the ice by simply asking for a referral to a urologist who specializes in sexual function. That will open the discussion.
I got over the embarrassment barrier when desperation overcame reluctance. I advise you to not wait that long. Medical professionals have heard a lot more strange stories than E.D. and most who go into that profession are caring individuals, not only for their clients' physical health, but their mental and emotional well-being as well.
Go forth and be open.

As per my comments above, seek a referral to a urologist who specializes in sexual function. No one should have to live with any sort of infirmity if they don't have to. Second opinions are NOT and insult to any doctor. If they are insulted, my advice to that physician is, "heal thyself".

Re: New Guy, Arizona
First off welcome. This is a great site guys from every with different issues, experiences joining together to help each other.
I know the feeling about privacy as I have in the past worried about what others think. I work at the same medical center I get my care at and I know lots of people that work in different areas. When it came time for ED treatment I put it off. If your doctor is good he won’t say thing and if your parents ask I’ll bet he can change the subject so easily most don’t even realize he didn’t answer the question. If your still concerned just hey doctor I have a personal and private issue and would like you a referral to The best men’s sexual health doctor you know he’ll understand and help you.
Again welcome

Re: New Guy, Arizona
Thanks, Quester. That's reassuring. The part that really has me concerned about talking to the doctor isn't really even the ED part, although that doesn't seem pleasant, it's even more personal than that, lol, and has to do with my own sexuality, I guess and how I may have injured my penis. Wow. I can't believe I was even able to write that, haha. It's been an enlightening 24 hours
Anyway, thanks for replying. I've been impressed by how much support I've already received here. Great site.
Thx,
Wes

Re: New Guy, Arizona
Hey Wes, it's Randy. We chatted briefly this morning.
I'm glad to have another Arizona guy in the forum. And don't worry - I won't even be back in AZ for another 3 months, and it's a big state. Plus, I have every reason to keep things here "confidential" just like you do lol. You've gotten some good advice in here. You really HAVE to go see a specialist, a urologist. I know a thing or two about the bent/curved/broken penis issue. Peyronie's has been a pet project of mine for almost 2 years now, like I told you. I'm not saying that's what you have, only your doctor can tell you that. SO stop worrying for the time being, and don't delay that doctor's appointment. It might be worth calling the clinic back to see if they have cancellations. You've said you're good on time, so they might come up with a same day appointment sooner than the one you're scheduled for.
And let me know which Uro they recommend. I've been through 3 so far, and looking for #4, so when I get back your guy may be a good starting place.
Keep reaching out. The guys here are super knowledgable and supportive, and we'll all be sure you get the help you need.
Hasta pronto,
Randy
