Hello,
I made a rather unfortunately dramatic post about a month ago where I talked about suicide in regards to my ED and potentially getting an implant to have a satisfying sex life. My apologies.
I am starting to move out of the denial phase, owning this situation and trying to take the best course of (Suicide-free) action moving forward.
I want to throw a few questions out there; I'm sure a lot of these have been answered but I have spent 200 hours on the internet on the topic in the past month so I am just simply sick of spending time browsing the internet in a panic. Feel free to chime in and answer particular questions that you feel you can answer best.
What brand implant do you have? Who is team Titan, AMS, etc... Pros and cons of each if you know of any? What would you do differently if you could do it over again?
How long is recovery and how long before you could have sex again? Is the sensitivity really still there to a highly satisfying degree? Is spontaneity of erections and manual pumping really the only difference?
As far as pre-op preparation, I have heard a lot of you all discuss a VED. Is there anything else you would recommend? Manual physical therapy? Supplements?
I am looking for valuable information, if you have any other knowledge to offer, let me know.
Lastly, I am currently working with Dr. Michael Granieri in Memphis. We haven't discussed an implant yet. I like his track record and he specializes in reconstructive surgery. What questions should I ask him if the conversation moves to implant?

Re: Moving past the denial phase...
I have an AMS 700 LGX. My main concern was girth maintenance and my surgeon felt that this model would be good for this. Today is 9 weeks post op. I have to say that recovery has been slower than I anticipated. I am still sore in the scrotal area where the tubes enter the pump block. It is also painful to put any pushing pressure on my penis, so penetration is still out of the question. I have been able to masturbate with lots of lube and a very light touch. The penile surface is still sensitive in a irritated way.
I don't think any of this is unusual; everyone heals differently. You have youth on your side.
I was disappointed in both length and girth upon first inflation...pretty common, I think. I have been cycling twice daily for the last three weeks, and I do see an improvement. I am pushing the limit per my surgeons advice and its uncomfortable. I deflate after about 20 minutes.
Does it feel natural? Not yet. It feels artificial to me at full inflation but I'm thinking this will probably improve. I do have numbness on the underside, which will also hopefully improve over the next year. My understanding is that numbness is pretty rare. Im thinking there is nothing like a natural, pulsating, warm erection but this is a workable alternative.
I do get glans engorgement if im sexually stimulated; otherwise, it can be quite cold. It's better if I'm sitting up or standing...must be gravity. This is much different than trimix injection, where I got a fat, engorged head. The downside was loss of sensitivity.
So , I guess the bottom line is patience, which many guys on here have advised.
I wish you the best of luck in your decision. I hope my story helps you.
Ken

Re: Moving past the denial phase...
There are few things more depressing than having a problem without a certain definition (like a disease that no one can put a name to) or having a problem and no clear path to resolving it.
Action. That clears things up admirably.
Congratulations on finding your path.
Brand? Depends on your anatomy. Your surgeon is the best determiner of that.
Recovery? My experience: Couple of weeks to get back to normal activities (albeit gingerly) couple of months before I started start feeling normal. Coital sex? about six weeks, though my significant other had problems unrelated to the implant that put things off a bit longer. So, I cannot say what it would have been like on the first day my surgeon cleared me for "action".
There is a thread somewhere in the "Implants" section that has a list of "Questions to Ask". I don't have a link to provide you but it should be easy to find with a little diligence using the "Search" function.
Thank you (Gracias), Lookingup

At your age I would not even think about an implant. Period!
You have hit or miss with Cialis, have you tried other doses or brands? Injections are usually work for most guys and should be tried first.
You never know what research will bring to fix ED and once you have an implant there is no going back.
Yes they do work but they are the last resort! Jim
P.M. if you like.
