My last implant was free, courtesy of the Canadian Tax Payers, but I cannot wait for year.

I talked to Dr.Perito. He said that he'll follow the original surgery which was in the scortum.

How long did your first implant last? I’ve used Hakky & he’s really good. I’ve had my initial implant fail after a year. The pump revision lasted 4 months. I’m about to do a 3rd complete revision within 2 years. I had been using the Coloplast Genesis/Classic pump, but about to try the One Touch this next go around

My first implant lasted 2.5 years, but it had lots of mileage on it. I enjoyed every minute lol.

Hearing how many failures are happening with implants is scary. This is a surgery I never want to repeat.

Anyway, prior to my surgery I did look at info on several of the implants. I was convinced the Coloplast Titan OTR would be the best, how can I request that from my surgeon? That was the best part, he just switched to Coloplast due to failures with the AMS. My only concern with the Coloplast Titan OTR is finding the release button. It's small and very tough to feel when you are swollen after surgery. Ended up at the office three times for doc to deflate me before I finally figured it out. Although there were still a couple times wasn't sure I was gonna find that button. Now it's like turning off the light switch.

I'm going to throw out Dr Mark Licht of Titusville Florida. I have no idea what the cost is out the door. He does micro surgery and is very good and clean. He uses Parrish Medical Hospital. Look him up on the web may be cheaper? Not sure how the covid affects him but Brevard county was only lightly affected.

I kind of figure that men who are having issues are much more likely to be on here looking for guidance or venting frustration. Men who have an implant done and never have any problems don't have much reason to visit FT.

68CatFan, your statement is very true. If you don't have any problems then why would you spend much time on FT. Members that have an inclination to teach are excluded from my statement.
Remember, there're many thousands of implants done per year. We see a small handful every month. Seems like a fairly good ratio to me. Plus, the satisfaction rate consistantly polls quite high among both men & women.

I spend so much time on FT because my implant was such a success -- both physically and emotionally -- that my wife and I want everyone to know what a wonderful change it can make to both of you.

I see a lot of posts from guys who have had very successful implants with few to no issues after here on FT. Do have to say they make me jealous, but I have also learned a lot about after care, none of which my surgeon covered. Last time I saw him was about 5 weeks post, to get deflated because I could not find the button. I was so sore from trying it's all I could tolerate was to let him deflate me. He sent me home with the words "Go use it."

I really wish I had found FT before my surgery and had a little more knowledge of what to expect. My first few months were miserable, pain ridden, and something I never want to repeat. With things I have learned here it probably would have been a somewhat better recovery.
