New to the board

Hello, I am new to the board. I have visited the board and learned much but just decided to join. There seems to be a wealth of information shared. I have suffered from ED for 10-12 years. I am 60 and still quite active sexually. I have used all of the oral meds with Levitra being the most effective. It has gotten to the point where they just don't work very well unless I take mega doses with the resulting negative side effects. I tried MUSE. It honesty felt like someone kicked me with a marine boot in the groin. Plus it did not work very well. I know I can try injections and a vacuum pump. I am really not turned on by either one and neither is my wife. I long for the days of spontaneity where my wife and I can have sex without preparations. It also starts to drag on your self esteem. As a result I am very seriously considering an implant. I have done much research including this board. It seems that the overwhelming majority of guys have been pleased with the results. My insurance has gridlocked me for coverage. They may make me try injections first. I am considering just going for the implant. I am just deciding where and who should do it. I have it narrowed down to two people, Dr Andrew Kramer at University Maryland and Dr Drogo Montague at Clevland Clinic. Don't know if anyone has heard of these guys. Do you guys think I am jumping the gun? I will be honest with you I am scared of the possible failure of the implant surgery.

As a successful user of Trimix injections for 2 years, I suggest strongly that you try injections before doing the implant. Either they'll work to your satisfaction or they won't. If they do, that means you can postpone surgery for as long as they work. Doesn't it makes sense to avail yourself of a less invasive procedure before moving to a more invasive one? In 5 years, assuming Medicare doesn't go bust, you'll be able to have an implant funded by your children. I think there's poetic justice in that! Besides, by then they may have an implant with an auto-inflate feature that activates--at least partially--everytime you see a hot woman--just like in the old days! That's what I'm waiting for! Ha Ha Ha

Read up on injections and feel free to ask any questions you have. Direct those questions in an open forum or feel free to send a PM to any on the Prickstickers on the site. I assure you we will all be happy to share our experiences.

Omega, your wife does not even need to see you inject. Usually we start some play and I excuse myself for just a few seconds and do the injection int eh Bath Room and return for more play. In min the game is on. I think you would be supprised how easy it is. I know guys that just have great difficult doing the first stick but after that the reward changed their minds.

Well, Omega, most of us were averse to injections when we first heard about the idea. It's amazing how normal it seems once you have done it a few times and experienced the results. It's practically painless; in fact, once the needle has penetrated into your penis, it doesn't hurt at all, and the erection looks and feels normal (translation: good). Don't discount it until you try it. If injections and oral meds fail, I might consider an implant, but I can't see jumping to something so major until I had tried a less invasive procedure. Read through the posts on injections before you reject the idea out of hand. I do understand, as I felt exactly the same way you do a year ago, but now I have seen the light.

I hear what you are saying. I have been thinking really hard( no pun intended) for quite sometime. I am not crazy about the thoughts of injections. This may sound superficial but I also do not like the size of my flaccid penis. Even though I am happy with the size of my erections I am not happy with my flaccid state. I am self conscious about it. I feel it has beem shrinking since my ED is getting worse. I feel insecure bathing naked with my wife. There are times we may go on bike expeditions with groups and others may skinny dip. I don't. I am too self conscious.

I also really miss the spontaneity of sex on demand, having it when and as long as I please. My wife has made the statement she is not comfortable with injections. I understand the reality they may work but there are other benefits I can see to an implant. Most stats show an abysmal follow through with injections, although I am sure this is an individual matter.

How about if you are ever single again. I feel for those guys. What would you say "wait a minute, I need to give myself a shot in the dick and I will be right back". I don't mean that in a bad way for all of those guys happy with injections. I am just having a dificult time coming to grips with it. I do appreciate your feedback.

I tell you, trimix rocks....just try it and you will get passed your preconceived negative thoughts.

I am single, been using trimix now for almost a year....been dating, using my trimix and now engaged to a 37 year old that loves the fact that I can stay hard for 2 hrs.....yipee !!!!! I can get her off 3 times and she begs me for a break......Wow , I have never had such a good time and I have been married twice before....

It is what you make of it, don't look at it as a negative. It is what it is and you can't change where you are with ED, but you can change your attitude and not let it get in your way.

Embrace it....don't be shy, we are all here to help.....

Yes, this is really a great place to talk about anything, never figured I could be so open about all this stuff but we are all here for a reason and sharing to help each other out !!!!

When I hear from my new fiance' "Honey....isn't it time for your shot" I know I am just about to have a really good time.....
