Well, Jere you hve a date, congratulations.. I have come home from my surgery nd I m doing OK.

True to form, I required more extensive surgery than planned. A 1.5 hour surgery became a 2.5 hour surgery. The extra work was a ide effect of a prior undescnded left testicle repair and a hernia repair couplrd with that and of course the radical prostatectomy.

Well, I am through except for the recover.

Glad for you it's done. Now focus on post-op care.

Jere,

Sorry to here of your delay! Delays are always time of doubt and second guessing. percevere and you will triumph! May the lord bless you! Good luck and hard times.

Though not enough time has passed to fully check things out it looks like little or no size loss, maybe a little gain. The wait was well worth it.

I'm scheduled for a week from tomorrow - Thursday May 9th. My surgeon, John Mullen, is my Urologist here in Seattle so no one will know of him but I trust him implicitly. We had our last meeting yesterday to finalize things and it all looks good. I'll get the AMS CX and I expect to be very happy with it, whatever size I may end up. I just want to be Hard again!! Now comes the Zen of Patiently Waiting... :D

Hi Steven, I also had my implant done by my local Urologist. He also performed my RP. I trust him with my life, since he saved it. He did my implant back on March 7th and I have been using the daylights out of it since week 5. He did a FANTASTIC job, and I could not be happier. Having a great URO that you completely trust and know he can do the surgery, is a wonderful thing. I wish you great success!

Hey Trimix60 and Greggshere,

Thanks so much for your support and good wishes. I do trust this doctor with my life too as he did my Brachytherapy radiation treatment for Prostate Cancer some 2 1/2 years ago and did a great job. We've been thru a lot together and communicate well. He listens to all my questions, giving his best answers to me. We chose the CX mostly because of his suggestion in feeling that it was the best option for me. He has reservations about tip erosion in the LGX and also thinks that if the surgeon sizes you correctly you'll be OK with size with the CX. I'm not knocking the LGX but that sounds like good advice to me. He and his partner have done enough of these that I feel totally comfortable with him and know he'll do a great job for me. I'll post more here when I actually get it installed next week.

Thanks again for the support. I can use it as we're getting closer to the finish line... :)
cheers,
Steve

The tentative date is June 25th. We are waiting for insurance approval. I'm going with Dr. Karpman and he offers as self-pay option at 18K which I am not ruling out if insurance turns me down.

I am sixty-six years of age and dealing with gradually worsening ED for twenty years. At sixty-three I wanted something that worked reliably. I got an AMS 700 LGX implant in 6/25/13. I am entirely pleased with the outcome. My surgeon was Dr. Karpman.
