Question about LGX

Postby hope794 » Sun Nov 22, 2020 9:03 pm

Hello. I've read that the maximum LGX lenght is 21cm. I've also read that it expands up to about 20%.
What i wanted to know is: does it expand +20% starting from 21cm or the 21cm is the maximum lenght, once fully expanded?

Furthermore, since i have a penis which is 17-18cm in full erection, will i have issues with the erection once implanted with an LGX? I've heard something about the LGX being "not stable" for long and thick dicks, but i didn't get what people meant with it.

Thank you really much!!

Hi there Hope, my Uro told me that if you had a longer penis then you need to be implanted with the AMS. CX implant,so you may need to research this option as the CX can support a longer penis, hope this helps,
Implanted on the 22/07/2021. AMS.CX 18cm /4cm rte was 5.5” pre implant lost no lenght still 5.5”

Hope, not sure about the max length but I know they can put rear extenders.

Hope that helps.

It seems to me that you are missing a lot of information and thus have some misconceptions to correct before you will understand the mechanics of the LGS

First of all the length of the implant has little to do with your penis length. The length of the penis that you can measure from the front of your pelvis to the tip of your penis is just an external measure.

The length of the implant goes from deep inside your pelvis (the bottom of your crus) to short of the tip of your penis (about halfway into your glans structure).

Related, but far from equivalent.

The expansion is from flaccid to erect. The LGX does no more to increase your length than any other inflatable implant. "length-expanding" or not.

The LGX gets its length-expanding ability from the weave of the cloth that makes its structure. The CX is made of the same stuff, but the weave is different. Think of the difference between a radial tire and a belted tire. Or a cloth cut the regular way or on the bias. The LGX does have a little bit more flex and perhaps a shorter service ife than the CX, but the difference really is negligible. And the comfort or a shorter flaccid is important to some men. Certainly, it is a convience.

For long dicks. refer to engineering terms such as "Column Strength" and "Buckling Resistance". A long slender column is less stable than a short fat one. Simple math. Well, maybe not so simple, engineering calculations can get complex, butd the principle is simple physics.

No competent surgeon will implant an LGX in a man the requires a Coloplast or a CX. If you do not have ABSOLUTE confidence in your surgeon, find another. My advice is to make yourself an integral part of your medical care team and be involved in every decision. Some people do not like to be that participatory, and I cannot fault them for that desire, but that is not how I am. It is a valid choice to jest tell your surgeon "Do what you think is best." In that case, communicate ALL your desires and concerns and let your surgeon do that. If that is our choice, good for you. But communicate clearly and fully, for sure.

I was approximately 18.5 cm erect before ED. My implant is the AMS LGX 18cm with 4 cm RTE and I'm sitting at 18ish cm fully pumped. I LOVE my implant and my Doctor did a great job sizing me. As others have said, if you're not comfortable with your doctor find one you are comfortable with. My girth is roughly the same but if you had a huge girth before you may want the Titan from what I heard. I might have lost very little girth with the LGX but it's not noticeable (wife's words not mine and she knows). I don't notice any girth lose either.

Thank you really much for sharing! Can i ask you what's the angle of your erection, and how you would rate the erection hardness from 1 to 10?

Furthermore, for everyone: i think that maybe i've not explained myself properly.

I didn't say i dont trust my urologist, or other things.. I've just asked if the LGX cylinders 21cm expand by 20% FROM 21cm, so they reach a cylinder lenght in full expansion of about 25cm.... OR if they expand to 21cm to the maximum AFTER being expanded 20%, so the cylinders are at their baseline about 16cm long and, with 20-25% expansion, they reach the 21cm lenght when pumped.

I hope i've been more clear this time :)

Thank to everyone for the involvement

Fully pumped I'm basically straight out (90°) and hardness is a 10.

I can't answer on the cylinder expansion but I know my length and girth improved greatly from the 6 week mark (activation) and a couple months in. I'm pretty sure it was me getting stretched back out from surgery and healing. Pumping to maximum was slightly painful for a few months as everything healed and stretched. Most on here are worried about loosing length after implant and if your urologist does he job correctly, you won't loose length. That is where some of the comments about trusting your urologist are coming from. I can send you a pic right after activation and one a couple months after activation if you want to see the difference. Just let me know.

To answer on the cylinder expansion after talking to my Doctor and reading on AMS site it is up to 25% more form the implant size you get, so if you get a 21cm it can expand up to 25% larger in length and girth. Give the AMS rep. a call for more info it's free and they know all about there implants.

Remember that a 21cm LGX has both a rear tip (proximal tip) and front tip (distal tip) made of surgical hard plastic which does NOT expand. So the math is not as simple as 20% of the full LGX length.

If the distal tip is 2 cm and the proximal tip is 3 cm (I am guessing at these figures) the inflated length of the expandable tubes of a 21cm lgs is 16cm. So, the 20% would be in reference ONLY to the 16cm inflatable/expandable portion of the implant.

Further, AMS/Boston Scientific is sure to name their implants by the inflated size, not the uninflated size. So, the 21cm LGX would be the inflated size. Therefore, the 20% increased size would be included in the 16cm of the inflatable portion of the implant. In other words, the 16cm inflated expandable tubes are 120% or the uninflated expandable portion of the implant. The uninflated starting point would be 13.33cm. The calculation would be: 13.33cm x 120% equals 16cm. Add in the front and rear tips' lengths of 2cm and 3 cm to the 16cm and you get the full size of 21cm.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5654325/ This link does show expansion of length of the LGX. And compares to the stiffer Titan for stiffness. Seems to me the reason they do not make the LGX bigger than 21cm is that they are not stiff enough at longer lengths. As the CX has stiffer walls and is recommended for men with curvatures It makes sense that a doctor would use it for that or men requiring more than 21cm. Or the Titan.
