Re: New from New Mexico...
I called the compounding pharmacy who made the original quad mix. He has only made tri & quad mixes, and has never made a mono. He asked me for how it was mixed, or diluted? There really are no uro’s here that I can see. The one he recommended said they do not treat ED and refer patients back to their regular providers.

If you want to try mono-mix here's a picture of my bottle that contains 10 one ml vials. The script comes in ten 1ml vials which is great as I can just thaw and refreeze one little vial while leaving the others frozen. The original doctor basically just copied the ingredients off of an Edex label and then made it stronger. I believe the only other ingredient that is in Edex but not in my mono-mix is a tiny bit of something that helps the dry powder to quickly dissolve into the saline. The Edex comes in a two compartment cartridge with saline in one compartment and the alprostadil as a dry cubed powder in the other. You mix the contents in the cartridge before use. What I get is already dissolved in the saline. I WOULD NOT suggest that you start with a mix as strong as mine. It comes from a small pharmacy. The pharmacists seem friendly and helpful. They would probably answer any questions your pharmacist had. The pharmacy name and phone number is on the label. They only ship within Florida. I pay $120 per order with syringes and alcohol wipes and I pick it up in person as they're only about 45 minutes away.
I keep it frozen. I do not throw it out in 45 days. I've used it when about a year old but it was kept frozen solid in the back of my freezer. I don't use 25 units. He just wrote the script the way I told him to write it. I'm using 8 units solo and 14 with wife. Do not start with a mix as strong as mine. It would be too hard to meter out the tiny amount you'd want to start at even if using a 30 unit syringe.

Re: New from New Mexico...
Bldoink, Thank you. I have an appointment with the prior provider who prescribed the quad. The previous one was a uro PA and the replacement is a female NP. I’m not getting my hopes up but thank you for sharing that. That might make sense to the pharmacist, but I will start with this prescriber, and see what happens. Thanks again. That was great information.

Re: New from New Mexico...
Thank you for that, I will bring it all to my appointment.
Re: New from New Mexico...
Let me say again, don't start with a mix as strong as mine. You might end up using my strength or stronger or tri-mix (seems the most commonly prescribed) or whatever. But start weak! Even if the first batch turns out to be a waste from being too weak. Work your way up in dose and strength. Remember, you're trying to avoid the antidote or ER visit.
Good luck and let us know know your appointment goes.
