needle suggestions

Postby djones36117 » Wed Dec 16, 2020 11:46 am

I use a .50 in needle, 1cc, 29g made by Brandzig. I have noticed lately difficulty getting injection placed without bending the needle. I alternate sides and location, I think its cheap needles. What is everyone using?

I use a 31g 5/16 needle with all of my sizes of syringes, but never bent one. I use the BD brand, they seem to be a little sharper. I get some once in awhile that are a little tipped from them bringing it i suppose, but just adjust my angle.

I use 5/16 31 gauge, .3cc syringes and have been for years. I've never bent a needle.

For what it's worth, my Urologist said to use nothing less than a 29 gauge needle, either 5/16 or 1/2 inch. He's had several patients that broke off the 31 gauge needles in their penis, which is very problematic and potentially serious. Could have been cheap needles or the like, but don't know for sure.

I use Publix Grocery store brand 31 gauge. No bends. Are you injecting by hand or are you using an auto injector?

I stopped using BD brand all together. I had both the 5/16 and 1/2 inch in BD and both became hard to push the plunger after loading with my trimix. I now use only easy touch in both needle lengths and none have been hard to push the plunger down. I buy my own syringes as my military pharmacy only despenses BD brand.
