Mine was made 10/28/2020. Both vials went in the freezer when they showed up (wife was out of town for work). Put one of the vials in the fridge about a week later, other one stayed in the freezer. It worked really well the first few time we used it, but last night...nuthin.
Tried the usual dosage on the right side and then did a little more on the left. Both hurt more this time too.
Could I have just missed the mark both times?
I wouldn’t think it would degrade that fast if it’s been in the fridge the whole time, but am I wrong?

My compounding pharmacist says, rule of thumb, frozen over 6 months, refrigerated 3 months.
80 yr old; injecting 15units Trimix (30mg papaverine,6mg phentolamine,30mcg prostaglandin) in Oct 2020 with great results; Inject 2-3 times a week

Re: How Long Does Trimix Last
When I was injecting, my Trimix remained potent for at least six months if I kept it frozen until ready to use and then refrigerated while the vial was in use. On one occasion, I found an unrefrigerated vial after three months and it worked well though I had to use about 125% of my normal dose.

Re: How Long Does Trimix Last
I’m new to this but here are my thoughts. I got my first supply on September 14. The bottle had an expiration date of October 17. (Probably official length advised, perhaps fear of contamination?)
In any case after about 2 months of 80% success rate had 4 ineffective injections in a row, in different sides spots. Could have been deterioration I thought, but then my next 5 shots even using slightly less Trimix than the misses gave me slightly more than 4 hours of a rock hard erection most of which needed pseudoephedrine to “deflate”. So it could very well be misses, but everyone is different.

I'd expect your non-frozen mix lost at least a bit of the alprostadil's potency and possibly much more but I suspect your primary issue was your injection depth was off. How many times have you injected? Are you injecting manually? Was this incident using the refrigerated or your frozen mix?

Re: How Long Does Trimix Last
This is always an interesting discussion considering the varied experiences. I obtained my first batch in November of 2019. In October of 2019, I refilled the script with a second batch long before the first batch was gone, mainly to avoid an unnecessary uro office visit since I was coming up on a year since the last.
At the same time, I pre-loaded about 20 syringes with the remainder of the first batch and store them in an airtight container in a freezer. Those doses continue to work just fine over one year later.
The occasional disappointing shot probably has more to do with injection technique and/or hitting those sweet spots.
I keep the product in the freezer at all times before and after use.
Just my $.02.

Refrigerated vial is coming up on two months so I’m not going to break out the 2nd vial from the freezer just yet. Even though I used more...one regular and one booster...both injections felt “off”. There was more pain during injection than usual and there was actually pain for a while after which usually never happens.

You are discovering the frustration of Trimix. The same dose injected in different locations produces different results and sometimes you get nothing at all. Being right handed I consistently miss on the left side at about the 3 o'clock location. When I do I'm sore for days.
