Pelvic Pain and ED
Pelvic Pain and ED
Does anyone else here have chronic pelvic pain caused by excessive tightening of the pelvic floor muscles? During a recent visit to my urologist, after examining my prostate, he told me that my pelvic floor muscles were very tight. Just wondering if anyone else here has experienced this. In doing some research, I found this can cause ED.

DAvid,
Wow. I have been working on CPD for over a month now as a long misunderstood cause of ED! I have been working with the IC network. http://www.ic-network.com/. Jill Osborne is doing fantastic work. I have discovered that there are a huge number of semi-orphan causes of ED that no one seems interested in. IC is one of those.
You CAN get help. There is physical therapy and exercise for this. Contact the IC Network. and please keep us all posted. MANY men have this condition and have no idea.
Thanks for posting.

Paul and Paperboy:
Thanks for your replies and the web sites. Here's a little more details.... My urologist says he knows a physical therapist about 30 minutes away who specializes in pain caused by pelvic floor muscles. Although he said he'd refer me to them (and my insurance would partially cover), he said in his experience it may help somewhat with the pain but probably not the ED. It' d be a matter of going there once or twice a week for several weeks. So I'm weighing these options. Meanwhile, I'm also having some pain/urinary symptoms in the bladder, prostate, and kidneys, so the doctor is going to do a uroflow test and also test my testosterone level. If these tests all come back normal, I'll probably give the PT a try. Sometimes doctors are wrong. The connection between pelvic pain and ED seems to be fairly new and some doctors may not be on board with it.
