Starting Trimix- Second Guessing

Postby bbf912 » Thu Jan 14, 2021 2:58 pm

I'm 45 and I was diagnosed with ED and low T around age 28. I take testosterone injections but still have ED. Cialis worked great for about 15 years. This year, after meeting my current girlfriend, it started being inadequate and inconsistent at 20 mg. I switched to Viagra (100 mg), and it worked well enough most nights, but not well enough to do anything but the basics. Then after a few weeks we had a couple of nights when it didn't work enough to do anything and a couple of nights when it just barely worked.

The PA at the urologist suggested Tri-mix injections, and I'm really excited about them, but I'm afraid they'll lose efficacy over time and I'll end up with implants at age 50. I'm not nervous about injecting myself (I give myself T shots every week), but I want to be sure I'm not giving up on the pills too soon. The difficulty with the pills has caused me a lot of distress in the last few months, even though my partner (who is a 6 month girlfriend, not yet a life partner) has been patient and supportive. I really couldn't bear it much longer.

It has been very difficult wondering if my erection will still be there after foreplay and knowing that I've been with my partner for 6 months and haven't been able to do the things beyond missionary that she (and I) really likes, even though we've had some really good nights.

I would likely use the injections about 50 times per year with my current girlfriend. I was also considering alternating between the injections and pills (great nights and acceptable nights) to reduce the frequency of injection and prolong efficacy. Any thoughts on my situation overall are appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.

Short of an implant this ED stuff is all trial and error. You never know what works until you try it. Other than experimenting with different pills, my only suggestion to possibly prolong pill efficacy would be to experiment with cock rings, starting with novelty/sex shop cock rings. For someone suffering from serious ED they aren't likely to work by themselves but they can provide a noticeable boost to other solutions. In your case I'd think they would be worth a try. There's also medical grade rings usually used with a VED (pump) but that's a different topic. There's also a couple of ring types that fall somewhere in between, such as the Zilla and Giddy but I don't know anything about those although there are a few threads on this forum that discuss them.

Good luck.

You are where I was a year ago. I kept trying cialis for a long time after it stopped working. I tried rings, shockwave therapy, stem cell injections, other oral meds... Nothing worked. I was terribly embarrassed and deeply depressed. Ultimately I really didn't want to acknowledge that my ED had gotten bad enough that it was time for the next step.
At the urologist we tried 10 units of T-105 Trimix 30-1-10 (lowest prescription) and I got about 40-50% erect. A couple of days later after my Trimix arrived I tried 15 units and got about 80% erect. When foreplay started I easily got to 100%. Now I wear the wife out every time. Porn star acrobatic sex that wasn't even possible in our 20's. Even after you ejaculate you can keep going! Hell, we've stopped after 30 minutes, laid in bed and enjoyed some drinks and went at it again for another 30 minutes.
Your ED will get worse as you get older... how quickly and how bad only time will tell. I've read some men only get a few years out of injections while others have used Trimix for 10 plus years. You'll have to see how well your body tolerates it and follow the tips to help prevent or minimize scarring. In my opinion I'd say to try other oral meds (some men say they work when cialis or viagra fail) but if they aren't satisfactory you should see your urologist about trying Trimix or any of the other injection medication.
Just remember to come back for tips on injecting before you start.

With the Tri Mix I feel like I'm 16 again. The amount depends on the severity of your ED I think. (I am on cycling ADT for Prostate cancer, +/- every 18 mos. when my T is super low a few months after the ADT I need more, when my T goes up I need less) The Tri-Mix prescription indicates to not use more than 3x per week. My experience is that after I use the Tri-mix, I'm more firm and fuller and having an erection on my Cialis (daily 5mg) is easier. I'd try it.
59-Considering Implant. PC-2014 Radical Prostatectomy, no ED post. Rising PSA 2015-Radiation, moderate ED, OK W/Daily Cialis. 2017-Rising PSA cycling of ADT, 18 months between. ED is significant. Trimix works intermittently, I hate it. Cancer Sucks!
