Hello guys,
I'm 62 years old and have been dealing with ED issues for about three years. After much testing (to eliminate possible causes), analysis, and experimentation with various treatments, my medical team has determined that my ED issues are related to ongoing Type II diabetes and/or to meds I am required to take since my cardiac valve replacement surgery 3 years ago. The good news is that I don't have prostate cancer, low testosterone, or any of a number of other ailments, but I do have a limp dick. Tried Viagra, Levitra, and Cialis with some measurable results. I used daily 5 mg Cialis for the last 6 months and the results were mixed. Having exhausted all the drug therapies, I started with the penile injections just this week. AMAZING. I haven't had boners like this since I was 19 years old. I started out with 0.3 cc and I'm thinnking maybe that's more than I need. Full hard-ons lasted way over 2 hours both times and took almost 8 hours to go completely away. I'm not complaining, but I do need a little sleep. I've also experienced some aching in my most important body part and I'm curious if that will go away as I lower the dose and/or my penile tissues become accustomed once again to being full-on.
I'm very fortunate that my internist, cardiologist, cardiac surgeon, and urologist are all supportive and determined to help me find solutions that work. Perhaps more importantly, I can talk to them openly without using so much medical jargon. That being said, what I like about this site is the "real world" aspect of other men's experiences. I look forward to learning more and more. And maybe whatever I can share will enlighten someone else.
Thanks to all,
Greg

Re: Good Stuff
Greg, Congrats on getting the injections working. You did not say what kind of magic juice are you using. Sounds like either Caverject or Tri-Mix. I am not a Dr but I also use the injections and think your excatly on point. I would try a smaller dose and see if ti does the trick. I use .125 dose and the duration is 1 hr. Just about perfict. I did notice with the caverject you keep some fullness for a longer period of time. I also use Bi-Mix and after the Hr there is no redisual affect.
I like you must say the injections make all the difference. Keep the wood up buddy.

Thanks for the good words, Cajun Jeff. I'm not sure about the brand names and such; my doc prescribed a custom drug of "Papaverine 30/Phentremine 1/PGE 20". I don't know if that's the same thing as "trimix" or not. I did have to get the prescription filled at a special "compound" pharmacy--not at a Walgreen's or my neighborhood pharmacy. As much as I have learned about all of this in the last several months, there's still a lot I don't know. As long as it works, I'm not sure I really care about the details. Or, as Alphonese said to Gaston: "Me, I don't know. Me, I don't give a damn." See you on the posts.

Re: Good Stuff
Greg, YOu did get it right. You are now on Tri-Mix. If you are continue to have lingering pain with the Tri-Mix you may need to talk to your Dr about using Bi-Mix. That mix takes out the Papaverine. I think that is the alprostidal (the other name that causes the ache.
